Was at Officeworks today and saw a 1TB WD Elements External HDD for sale at $176. I've checked the site and it seems WDE1U1TB is on sale at $176 (don't know if this is the regular price, but it said it was on sale in North Sydney)

what's a good price to aim for then?
Hard to get much cheaper than this, especially from a major retailer. I nabbed the same model off a price match a couple months ago, bringing it down to $151, but it was a once off and haven't seen another opportunity like that since.
Yes, it's the normal price. I got it from Officeworks online 2 months ago, and it was the same price
been same price for months and multiple listings on this site. I bought two and I'm finding they run extremely hot and randomly disconnect from USB for a few seconds.
I'm going to smash one open and use it as internal only.
hmm i havent been getting any of these problems. Perhaps im just a lucky one :P
It seems like Officeworks dropped it by $1 though since Jan but it looks like this isn't a real 'bargain' per se, should've dug deeper for the previous deals (in Jan http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/9414)
But back in August 08 it was still $199, for anyone that wants to know!
umart.com.au have them for $175
u know what that means!
price match baby :)
Get the MyBook for $20 more
I got one of these for this price a couple of months ago and it hasn't skipped a beat. Very happy with it.
I bought my book for 183 at jbhifi, ow pm would be @173, so not a really good deal.
yes, it's always been this price
