  • Does anyone know how this compares to an Hurom or an Oscar NEO?

    • +1

From the quick googling I did it looks like this is a new model that only came out in Japan in April of this year, and Sharp is only just bringing it into Australia.

There is a video on their youtube page of it as well… and for the price I think it compares quite well to the other models.

I did look at the reviews on the Japan amazon site, and it seems to have about 4 stars (but I don't have chrome on this PC to translate the reviews).

The price seems comparable to what they get in Japan, but with no shipping cost.

So yeah, I'm gonna grab one and see what it's like :)

You don't need chrome to translate a page. Just paste the url into google translate and it will do the rest.

        • Oh nice to know. I thought it only worked for pasting individual paragraphs!

  • Sweet… getting one as well

  • That look awesome… thanks op for sharing the code :)

    edit: bought one

    • bought one as well!

this one is for sale at 21400 JPY at amazon Japan, about AU$228, how come the regular price is $499 in Australia?

    http://www.amazon.co.jp/SHARP-%E3%83%98%E3%83%AB%E3%82%B7%E3…

    • 1) Aussie tax.
      2) Because they can.

  • Thanks OP.

    Got one as well.

This one looks like the new juicepresso machine I saw on the coway website a while back. Can't seem to find the link now.

I also called sharp and enquired about their warranty. Was told by the customer service rep that it came with a standard 1 year warranty. However on their website it states its design lifetime is 7 years.

    Fingers crossed.

  • just bought one too, i wonder how long it takes to ship

    • Hi android iOS,

Have you received your juicer? Can you please give us your feedback?

  • For all of those buying… is it your first slow juicer? Or do you already have experience with one of those well known brands?

    • it's my first slow juicer and i am excited :D

I just found out cheaper version of slow juicer from Kogan ($129)
    http://www.kogan.com/au/search/?keywords=slow&keywords=juice…

    • price seems good, just it is presale, ships on 31 October

  • With these slow juicers, how slow are they exactly? If I want one glass of mixed juice for example, how long do I expect to wait?

Says not to operate continuously for more than 20m. So it has to be done much quicker than that right?

Also, to use this, do you need to peel your fruit and remove the core before putting it in?

  • Can get Hurom Slow Juicer HU-400 Pro for $329 (free shipping) here:

    http://www.slowjuicer.com.au/hurom-slow-juicer-hu-400-pro

Regular price is the same ($499).

Can anyone compare or recommend one over the other? I definitely want one of these, not sure which though.

I just don't get this whole juicing bizzo. Why throw away half the veg/fruit? It's not like you're consuming the good bits and not the bad (except for pips etc). Just eat the sodding fruit normally!

    • Why drink water when you can suck on ice cubes?

    • +1

Juice is a concentrated form of valuable nutrients, plus nutrients in juice are easier for our body to absorb than when eating whole fruits and vegetables. I wouldn't say juicing is much better than eating whole fruits and vegetables, but for a lot of people it's the easier way to get a whole bunch of veges and fruits into your system in just one glass of juice. Just saying!

    • it's more convenient

  • For 299 it better grows its own fruit.

    • Lol why ist showing me as a REP

Has anyone received their juicer yet? Would really love a review :)

I received my juicer a few days ago, Delivery was quite quick.

Its my first slow press juicer (actually first juicer) so I can't compare it to others.

First impressions. Its a nice and compact machine, looks pretty good IMO (Got the red one).

I've juiced apples, carrots, kale and oranges no problem. Even put some left over fruit salad in there. Juice comes out surprisingly sweet and tasty.

The chute is quick narrow, so you do have to cut the fruit pieces up a bit smaller, but once in the machine seems to chew up the fruits and veges with little effort.

There is a tiny bit of pulp that makes it into the juice, but not much (It might depend on what you juice). I find when I juiced tomatoes and celery (not together). More pulp seems to get through.

Machine is easy to set up and also clean, just rinse everything (you might need to scrap out pulp that gets stuck where the pulp comes out) and clean as you would a cup or a bowl, and give the mesh a quick scrub with the included brush to get rid of the stubborn bits.

The pulp comes out fairly dry and compact. I have run the orange pulp through the machine again, but doesn't seem to make much difference in the amount of juice.

So far its a good little machine.

      Hope that helps.

Thanks a lot jwan for the detailed feedback. Can you please tell me if it is noisy? I bought the kogan one, but it was too noisy.

Bought one this morning, will let you guys know of my impressions when its delivered.

Got it home and gave it a go last night, this is also my first juicer so I don't know how it compares to other models.
It's great, I got a good amount of juice out of everything I put in to it. The prep time for chopping up the veggies/fruit wasn't as bad as I was expecting either. Really I've just had the same experience that jwan has had, cleaning was a little harder than I expected tho. Noise levels seemed fine to me. I after a while using it I could feel the base where the motor is getting hot so I let it rest for a bit, it seems if you're making more than a few litres then you're going to have to take breaks.

        Update:
I've been using it every other day since buying it and I've noticed something, if you feed it something with a lot of fibers (like celery) be sure to use the included cleaning brush to unblock the pulp exit port while you're using it. While it never gets fully clogged it can narrow a lot, which means it won't be able to eject enough pulp to keep up with what you're feeding it, causing juice to leak out.

I just bought one of these, the FRESH code still works via the online sharp site, this is after I bought the Kogan one first, and sent it back after some arguing, it was utter rubbish, the Sharp one makes the Kogan one feel like a plastic toy.

My impressions after a couple of days use:

    1) Pretty quiet (surprisingly)
    2) Solid well made unit
    3) Get's a great deal of juice out, more than I imagined
