I know nothing about prams but a few friends have the Phil and Teds prams and this is apparently a really good price. Comes with the choice of the double kit or snug cot.

I could never understand the difference between a pram and a stroller or why they're so expensive? Anybody care to enlighten me?

Wedding and/or Baby = Cha ching!!! The two things that they know they can screw you on because you're so emotionally invested in them!!!
I've had a Phil & Teds pram since early 09. The thing is built like a house and has copped all sorts of abuse overseas carrying to boys up to 5yo. I used the Sports model but they are all very similar. $499 including a double seat is a fantastic price. My sports + double seat cost me $749 from Baby Bunting and I still think it was money well spent.
The best part is that Phil & Teds prams have a high resale value. So once you're done with it, you can make back about 2/3 of the price as long as it's in good condition still!
+1 to everything you said, including overseas travel. Since '07 and 3 kids and its still going strong.
But I checked eBay and a sport with double seat and all the trimmings are going for like $150, a far cry from the $800 we spent back then. I think its only recently that the bottom has fallen out of the secondhand pram market lol.
I always felt sorry for the poor kid stuck at the back of a double!
I always did too before we bought one, but my kids actually fought to be the one in the back.
I'll let you know in a couple of years if I have the same issue! (Time to upgrade!)
