    Nice carbon BSO

    • What is BSO?

      • +3

        Common terminology for "Bicycle-Shaped Object".

BSOs are usually found for sale in department stores, or being ridden around with the forks installed backward and half the packing material still fitted to the frame. Later found gathering dust in the back of a garage, or in landfill, after about 3 rides.

A BSO usually costs about 1/10 the price of this bike.

This is not a BSO. I'm not sure what Mr TightBottom is on about.

  • tempting, but tektro brakes. add the replacement cost of those. seems to be same frame and fork as equivalent azzuri model, wheels are worse though.

i'll wait patiently for 2014 azzurri models and 2013 ones to go on sale as well.

  • I think you need to redfine "almost".

The crank, cassette, brakes, chain, and I am guessing the hubs are not 105, so half of the groupset is not 105.

    • Apologies - your right. I didn't realise the groupset definition extended to so many parts!

  • i got the azurri ultegra di2 pro version of this bike for over 2k. very happy with it, i doubt this is much diff to that really except for the di2 system. essentially same fork and frame.

though some people complain on here about their customer service, i cant say i had much of a problem with the bike to require anything from cycling express.

If you want customer service, you don't shop online.

      It's as simple as that.

Customer service costs money. Most online bargains are contingent on the buyer being competent enough to service themselves.

As long as their warranty system is reasonable (for legit claims, not spurious "I was just riding along, and suddenly my bike got utterly abused and fell apart and now I want a new one for free please" claims), you get what you're paying for.

If you want a patient sales person to answer lots of questions and guide you through the purchase process, go down to your local bike shop and pay local bike shop prices.

      • Its a shame LBS 'price premium' and the associated 'customer service' levels vary so much. If you find a good one - stick with them!
