    Yeah fair enough. I don't know, I missed the K400R deal, and was among the first few to order because I waited for the confirmation to pickup email that never arrived. And people on the K400R deal said you don't have to wait for confirmation, and that you can just go in and pick up which the order number and personal identification. So I tried this morning and went into Harvey Norman at 250 Parramatta Rd, and they told me that I had to wait for the online email confirmation to pick up, and also said that it was out of stock, so I should wait for the email and that they should be on backorder.

Sorry about sidetracking, due to recent in-flight experience, I wonder if this can be used in a plane? You know the input/output outlet(2-holes) is different from the one of usual audio devices. If not, where can I get an adapter for that purpose? Are there any other noise-cancelling headsets to be recommended for one of those long-haul flights?

I also placed my order last night and just received a call from Melbourne QV saying that they're out of stock (despite it showing up online right now as being in stock at that store) of the brown Downtowns. They said that they'll try sourcing one from another store, but I doubt that'll work out. I should've just copped the $6 delivery; hindsight's a real bitch!

Just got a pair of Downtowns from Preston for $22 had a couple of pairs left, Thomastown had the grey ones for $27, Uptowns out of stock at both stores. Listening to them now, sound is clear doesn't lack bass as others have mentioned, sound well balanced.

I can see some (more) complaints to the ACCC coming up. If they can't offer a real-time inventory they shouldn't take money until order is confirmed, or items are collected!

I picked up from Ringwood HN, I use headphone only rarely, I tried some songs from my iphone,
this philips one sound great. few other $3xx and $2xx headphone come with some cracking noises….
Anyway good buy.

    I ended up giving the white Uptowns to my dad for father's day. Haven't tried them yet.
    
    However, I have opened up the white Downtowns (for me) and the sound quality is awesome. Bass is great, sound isn't too murky like some have complained, and it's comfy as hell. For $22 I'm freaking happy, so I can only imagine the Uptowns are better (better sound quality and build) for the audiophiles out there.

Got a grey downtown headphone from Mcgraths hill/windsor. Was the last pair, saw an uptown on display-salesmen told me someone had ordered it online so he couldnt sell it to me and would have to re-package it later. So if anyone here ordered an uptown from Mcgraths Hill, theres a good chance youre getting a display unit.

Short review:

The downtowns are the same if not a lil better than Brainwavz HM3, they each sound a bit different. The downtowns have a closer feeling to it, more immedicay, whereas the over-ear HM3's have a cavernous sound. Otherwise theyre pretty much the same in sound quality, hard to tell the difference and ive been switching back and forth between the cans. i do kinda prefer the downtowns however.

When you put them on. you'll notice how isolated outside sound is, which is good. cord is also tangle free, just curls up, no knots at all.

would've preferred the uptown's as it would've been more of an upgrade but they were all sold out before i could get one. The downtowns are still an upgrade from the HM3's but i would say not by much. Still worthwhile though. Build quality is awesome, tangle free cord, different sound and includes a mic aswell.

Love HN… was one of the first one to order online yesterday, it was showing heaps of stock… I chose pick up… this morning went to the store and they just don't care and don't keep stock for those who've paid online… he said there were lots of people waiting for the store to open to buy these headphones and they are sold out… not good business I say!

There was a brown Downtown and a white Downtown at HN Knoxcity still available at 4:30 pm today (Sunday). The pricetag on them were $129, but the salesman knew about the lower price.

Ordered for an Uptown for pick up, not a peep as yet, no calls and no emails.

Frankly, Australian online retailers should just do what Amazon does. Charge the credit card when stock is confirmed and ready to ship. There is no down side to this for either the business or the consumer. Why is this so hard for them to implement? This way, both the retailer and the consumer can cancel orders if there is no stock, or if the price is wrong or if the consumer changes their mind before the order proceeds to picking and packing.

Called HN on Saturday as online site said they had the black uptowns instock they didn't guy said he'd call around and see if they had any in other stores that they could shift stock from and said he'd call me this morning. Yesterday put my telstra sim in to buy some nice discounted apps with telstra funny money and forgot to put my other sim back in not sure if he called or not maybe he'll call tomorrow.

Man this sucks, ordered online on Sat night 9pm, black /brown Uptowns. Wiley Park store showed in stock, Sunday morning 9am, gave a call, all sold out.
