I am a bit confused as I thought there was only 1 manufacturer tanning in Australia

The ugg boot side of the business is overseen by managing director Lena Fishman who sells under the label Ugg Australia. While there are other ugg boots made domestically, all other manufacturers use sheepskins tanned overseas.
When was the last time you bought something because it was Made in Australia?
If that's a question for me, then the answer is yesterday. Although I buy overseas goods as well.
Why I asked though is because I checked out the yellow earth website and it gives the impression that they are tanned in Australia etc. My concern is that might not be true.
And if I could wear wool products (allergic) then I would probably be buying locally if there is not a huge price difference.
Do ewe know any good sheep jokes?
