How much are they normally ???
I prefer the Australian lentils which a smaller and have more flavour than the larger Canadian ones.
I have never encountered lentils in 5kg packs at Woolies, i imagine they are trying to head the Costco way and sell in bulk. As to the flavour I don't know much of lentils but I guess we'll soon find out.
As a bonus, you can use the methane produced to heat your house in an environmentally friendly way!
in an environmentally friendly way!
not really, it releases Carbon Monoxide…
Neil…are these lentils South African?
Not in that video they aren't… try this link.
If you live in Brunswick you could be buying them from Omara for cheaper ($3.99/2kg) and supporting local business
Just posting to apologise, I went to omara today and red lentils are $3.99 for 2kg green lentils are actually $7.30 for 2kg so this is more of a bargain than I thought.
No worries, is there really a great diffrence between the red and the green? I've only ever had the green ones (mum's cookin), cheers.
I got 4kg of red lentils for $10 from local Indian store (Sydney)
Hindustan Imports standard price for 5kg is $12.50 which is located in Dandenong, VIC.

They also have very competitive prices on most products.
Think this might be the first post of lentils in OzBargain!
