261

The deal is back! Those glasses are beautiful, their price even more ;)
I got 4 from the previous deal a few months ago and I use them everyday at work.
They are bigger, they last longer than the Bodum's I have at home and they cost 4 times less!
Just bought them from Kmart Southgate NSW, capacity 280ml/each(may be too big for some espresso makers)

nice, save $1 from RRP. That is a solid 10% off. + for your time of taking the photo.

    • I don't know about other Kmarts but my local one has never stock of them, last time they were selling them for $9 they sold out in 2 days, IMHO a good deal.

      • If they never stocked them how could they sell out ;)
Never seen them at our local store either but I was probably too slow. Will try again tomorrow.

        • i mean i only see them in stock when they are on special and they last only 2 days.

Did they have any for skinny Lattes ?

    capacity 280ml/each

could also be used for a pot of beer then?

    • +1

You can use it to hold any liquid. That's for sure.

      • +1

        solids too :P

        • not so good with gases though…

        • there is gas trapped in the double glass

        • -1

I thought it was a vacuum for insulation ?

        • I'm not sure if it's actually vacuum, the bodum glasses have a patented air-only silicone valve that equalises air pressure

        • would it hold ether?

        • +10

          I prefer Argon, it's more noble…

  • +3

it's a good bargain but the glasses are awful. I went through three sets before giving up. One cracked with hot coffee in it, and two were not vacuum sealed. They are also very thin glass.

    • All double wall glasses use thinner glass than normal glasses therefore it's expected to be more fragile but after 6 months of use i have still a full set of these "cheap" ones and 4 out of 8 Bodums left. Now if you consider the price…

  • +1

I got a set at the beginning of the year and use them everyday no problems.

  • Standard price?

    • +1

Feel free to downvote the deal if you know this is standard price. As I mentioned above I have only seen them when they are on special for $9(today and a few months ago) and they sell out pretty quick so I suppose it's a good deal

  • These aren't dishwasher or microwave safe, if you put them in the dishwasher then you run the risk of losing the rubber dot seal and then water can get inside and the glasses are no longer insulated.

    • Haven't put them in dishwasher or microwave, maybe that's why they have lasted so long :)

  • +1

I'm pretty sure this is standard price. I saw the deal a few months back and was disappointed when I went to my store and they were all sold out. Went back 2 weeks later and alas, the stock was full and it was still $9 :)

  • +4

I dunno. Looking at the box it seems one of the four glasses has already been used.

They're an everyday low price item and featured in the most recent advertisement

  • I work there! Pretty sure that's the standard price, or their originally $10. We often run out of stock, but lately we've gotten regular stock in.

You must drink a lot of coffee!

+1 for your enthusiasm, or is it the caffeine?

    • 2 coffees a day, but i make coffee for my coleagues too. Since i moved to Australia I'm still trying to find a coffeeshop that makes decent coffee :(

      • I have 2-3 coffees a day, usually 1 from a shop, I'm not that fussy though so most coffee shops are good enough for me - I just frequent the cheaper ones :-)

      • If you find one then please let the rest of us know, I recommend avoiding ALL of the chains because they are universally bland and crap.

My favourite coffee for the last few months has been Jamocha from Manna Beans, consistent and brilliant. The downside is that all other coffee tastes like burnt dirt in comparison.
I'd love to know how anyone could think that Gloria Jeans or Starbucks makes drinkable coffee, most likely those that drink international roast or blend 43 and think that's how coffee should taste.

        • +1

There's an Adelaide company called Cibo who make excellent coffee. I believe they're expanding to capital cities around the country as the owners sold a majority stake to a company who are able to take it nationwide - look out for them :)

        • +1

Don't make too many assumptions! I don't like Gloria Jeans' Hot Coffee at all, but I do like their Ice Coffee during warmer weather.

Starbucks = no thanks. I've never seen anything on their menu that looks like a normal coffee, most are probably best categorised as desserts. And then there's the price… Good place to socialise though it seems.

If you find yourself in Melb CBD, Melbourne Central area, these are very popular among coffee snobs, I mean aficionado's, friends & colleagues:
          Plantation in Melb Central
Badger vs Hawk On La Trobe near Mlb Cnt
A Little Bird Told Me On little La Trobe near Mlb Cnt
There's another place on the corner of Elizabeth & La Trobe Sts that I cannot remember the name of, an organic type Cafe surrounded by Endeavour College, diagonally opposite ANZ Bank.

Even though I said I'm not fussy, I can still appreciate a good coffee, I also have the ability to consume an 'average' coffee and enjoy it :)

Lastly, Moccona Classic Medium Roast is the Instant of Choice in my house.

I'm not sure about these. I've got the Bodum glasses with the little plug on the bottom, they are microwave and dishwasher safe. I often use them to heat milk and drink coffee/tea/milo. They never get hot on the outside!

I spotted the Kmart glasses today. They are not microwave or dishwasher safe and I couldn't see any plugs to allow pressure equalisation. I'm not sure they'll perform as well as the Bodum ones and they certainly aren't as versatile.

  • Yeah….that's why I ended up getting the ones at reject shop. 2 for $5 which is 50 cents more but they are microwave and dishwasher safe. I suggest people should be getting that instead. And the curves seems curvier for some reason.

  • Did anyone enquire into that set of "2 large double wall glasses" as listed available - http://www.kmart.com.au/wcsstore/Kmart/images/catalog/418702… homemaker =$9, specifically their capacity (ml).

  • And speaking of glasses. Aldi will have them on 'special buys' 28/8/13 . Take your best decision.

  • Jeez copy us the darn size local merchants.
Anyways thanks for the heads up, will scope out aldi.

The quality of these are cheap and nasty. Similar to S&P and aldi brand. These feel like plastic not glass.

Bodum are quality and feel like glass. These are just for poor people. Also bodum are dishwasher safe.

You can't compare denmark coffee products vs Chinese.

    • Where are BODUM® products manufactured?

BODUM® products are manufactured worldwide. BODUM® owns and operates a factory in Portugal and also utilizes facilities in Germany, Poland and China which meet and operate under the same social responsibility guidelines as our own factory.

    • You'd seem fit a hooligan blind sided by fashion labels. Only in my judgement, no name/ Rejectshop s work perfectly well are exceedingly adept at their requirement, important - neither is an excess weight nor a stupid unamenable sizes of typical, 'Coffee Bodumb®s'. This, preclude the dishwasher, will extend to greater purpose; deserts, tea, softdrink.

  • FYI, these glasses have been recalled by the manufacturer.

    • I never bought any, but good work with spotting the recall
