This is the new Nexus 7 that was on sale in the US last week, with Full HD 7" screen, Qualcomm quadcore CPU, 2GB RAM etc. Have no idea when it is going to be on Google's Play Store in Australia, and looks like it won't hit the retail here until September — at unknown price too. MobyCity has already attempted to do a cash-grab by selling the 16GB Wi-Fi version at $509 + postage…
That's where B&H Photo Video comes in, who often posts many US-only electronics at US price but with a bit of postage fee.
In this case Nexus 7 16GB costs USD $229 + USD $38.86 postage = USD $267.86 ~= AUD $300 delivered.
Yeah it's only a few months ago you have AUD > USD but unfortunately this is the price you have to pay these days. The last generation Nexus 7, which is still pretty good, are sold at $179 delivered for a 32GB refurb unit and that might be a better buy if you don't need the latest.
Edit: It's surprising that B&H only has one review on ProductReview.com.au and a pretty bad one-star one as well. My dealings with B&H has always been excellent.
I've had the galaxy tab 7.7 for ages and decided to upgrade to the iPad mini. I lasted 24 hours with it before I returned to jb and asked for a refund. The screen quality/resolution was terrible. My 7.7 was way better. This will be my upgrade once released here.
