      I live in THE capital city and am yet to find a no gap dentist.

  Perhaps this isn't common in Sydney. I do remember going to some place in Sydney a few years back because they said it'd be free but afterwards we had to pay for x-rays. My father was not happy.

  I know at least one place in Wollongong that offers the first deal year-round (I work there).

  10% Off is not a bargain if you charge 20% more.

  Most health insurance covers no gap check ups twice a year.
