It's in the latest catalog, me and a mate just went and bought 10.

    NO SHAME.

    • +5

and when they sell out, you can get a raincheck :)

    • Are you by any chance the one that took all plain Dairy Milk bricks, and left us the strange exotic fruity variances?

      • yeah only the fruit ones left i brought only the nuts one and it was already broken

        • At least you got the nuts one.

  • +10

Why would you advertise per 100g? That's what supermarkets do!

    • +3

Supermarkets are forced to do it by law as it allows consumers to compare similar items more easily.

But since we're used to seeing the actual weight and price of the product and we have nothing to directly compare it to, it's a bit weird on OzBargain.

    • +9

I dont mind thats youve used per 100g as long as you have included the actual weight and price of the product. Thanks OP

    • +10

Supermarkets do (by law) as it makes it easier to compare. Same benefit here.

      • +9

Yep, law states they need to do it; there's no hope in hell coleworths would do this out of the kindness of their hearts.
IMO this has saved me a lot of money, especially as product weights have shrunk in recent times. Many companies have reduced the weight or qty of their products, and therefore can get the product down to a lower price point. Take Arnotts Shapes for example; they'll take 25g off each box, then they can sell the item for $1.49 - you'll notice the supermarkets don't need to use unit pricing (per 100g) on the overhead/frontend price displays. Shifty.
ProTip: DO NOT look at the full price of the product, look at the unit pricing, then take a mental note of it for next time the special appears.

    • Because it makes it easier to see how much of a bargain this is.
Especially when comparing to other bargains, e.g. 220gm blocks at $2.50

    • +10

When it comes to chocolate ALL I look at is $ per 100g. Perfect way to advertise it I say :)

    • +1

If they did it by KG most people would crap in their pants. Normal prices cost more than salmon per kg.

    • +4

With my penchant for chocolate, describing the deal as $8100/metric tonne would be more helpful. Better luck next time, OP.

      :p

      • +1

Metric tonne?! You need to buy this:

        http://adweek.blogs.com/photos/uncategorized/cadbury.jpg

It's also great for when your significant-other insists you can only buy one block this week.

      • Actually tonne is by definition metric. It's ton that's 2240 lbs. And for the confused USAns tonne is called metric ton.

At about 200g per week, it'll take me a lifetime to consume a tonne so $8100 doesn't look so bad for the pleasure.

    • I prefer … advertised $$$/Calories

  • Those marvelous creations are cheap!

    • +2

Gotta get me some Peanut Toffee Cookie, stat…

    • I think they're a similar price at NQR.

  • +3

    Post the deal correctly $2.85

    • +3

Its in his post already. The title is fine. Its primary school math nothing confusing

      • +2

        126 gms for a buck

      • +1

Maths even. Primary school English. After all, it is OzBargain and not USBargin.

  • +5

Cadbury is way to sweet in my opinion, I'd rather go lindth.

    • +9

      Incorrect.

    • +4

Lindth - chocolate for people with a lisp ;)

  • Was just in my local and bought a snickers 12 mini pack for $2.09 didn't notice the above deal.

  • +3

rightio. fetching my car keys NOW.

  • +1

Pity they don't do many of the old gold variety in these sizes.

    • +1

Are there ANY dark choc varieties included in this deal?

  • Awww…I stocked up last week when Woolworths had 2 x 220g for $4.59. That works out to be $1.04 / 100g

      • +7

        It's not "tightarse", it's theft.

        • +8

It's fraud, actually, but whatever, it's still not decent.

      • I'd expect them to not give you a refund without a receipt

  • +2

any half way decent chocolate in this deal - 70-85% cocoa ones?

    • +3

Cadbury's? 70-85% cocoa? Even their "dark" chocolate struggles to get to the 45% mark.

      • Yep, you can get this: http://imgur.com/sLIU5Ur but can anyone confirm if the old gold is on special?

        • Couldn't see any old gold on special at my local woolies.

  • I love the Dairy Milk and Top Deck, crossing fingers and Top Deck is on special too !

  • $1.25/100g is not bad for a sale price so 81c is a real bargain!

  • what's chocolate? …;)

    http://catalogues.iga.com.au/home.html

  • im going to feel guilty after buying 10 of these.

  • +1

I'm getting like, really really fat.

    • Don't you mean big boned ? :)

      • Sorry, not fat, just big stomach bones.

I was in a WOW today, paused at the fat chocolate display at the end of the isle, pondered the pro's and con's, and walked on.

        Wasn't easy man, wasn't easy.

The new Aldi at Bondi Junction saved me.

  • -1

They were this price when they first were introduced. Then went up to the silly price. I've found them a pain to eat [can't break into pieces well] and not that tasty. Okay for less than $1 per 100g.

  • Three packs made it into my trolley last night. Meant to be kept aside for a month to eat after completion of our diet…and then there was two. :(

    • So you store junk to eat once the diet is over? The irony.

Diets don't work. But yeah, you've probably figured it out.

  • +2

bigW Cocoa belgian everyday price+/-$0.13 'cents .. no hurry.

  • New flavour released in the Marvellous Creations range. "Banana Candy, Peanut Drops and Choc Biscuit". Get on it, it's amazing!

  • No doubting this deal is good, but NOTHING tops the Lindt deal Coles had a month of so ago. I bought 15 blocks and am down to my last few. http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/105554

    • Oh? I saw lindt blocks for 1.92 at woolies today. They were 50% off I think.

      • You should gather evidence and post a deal.

  • just ate half a block now needed the sugar hit
now feel like going to vomit

    • Don't forget to drink & eat some prunes, or you'll be passing a brick.

  • this would be great if Woolies was within walking distance, but with the price of petrol it ain't worth it to go outta my way, shame, those Marvelous Creations are yummo!
