Haha, this is the 'sans-shyamalan' version. So, you know, you should actually enjoy it. ;)

I'm not a huge fan of cartoons - but this is without a doubt the BEST cartoon series i've ever seen. My kids have watched this countless times.
The characters are realistic (in their behaviour), their motives make sense, the story is consistent and VERY cleverly written. Each villain has a motive, some villains change their perspectives over time - and even become decent people (eg. Zuko).
Just to add to the realism, I have a sister who reminds me of Azula ;) Those scenes with the duck and shooting an arrow off the head are so close to the bone, it's not funny.
Oh - the movie version really sucked, so don't confuse the movie with the cartoon.

    • I agree. One of my favourite series.

Dragonball Z is over 9000 times better than this crap

A great cartoon series, but the local DVD releases are bare bones. The local DVD releases are missing the extras, especially the bonus extras disc for each book. So get the DVD releases from the USA, if you really want the extras.

  • Has anyone seen The Legend of Korra? Wondering if its as good as Last Airbender is or if its one of those series that taints the previous series.

    • I'd say it's as good as TLA, better than the first book, but didn't reach as high as Book 3: Fire. The tone is very different though and people hated it because it wasn't the same Gaang. There's more fanservice in Korra though.

      • I think I'll have to check it out, hopefully the cabbage merchant gets a nod.

He actually does get a nod hahaha. Was pretty funny.

Legend of Korra is of a much more grown up tone. Much more mature situations and more in line with coming of age themes.
