Numatic Vacuums from $162 @ The Hut

360

These vacuums are back at The Hut after selling out the last 2 times.

They are $469 at Godfrey's and about $350-500 on eBay.

This is the best vacuum I have ever owned or used.

I would recommend the red one unless you want to saved a few dollars and buy the blue one.

Shipping should be 0.99GBP and currency conversions were done using Google.

I'll just leave this here as it belongs on every Henry post: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CmC62Eg82E8

  • Was going to get one of these for my mum… She needs a new one, is it worth it?

If so, what is the difference between the red and blue?

    • +2

what is the difference between the red and blue?

The red includes KIT 1A Stainless steel accessory pack Big

      • From the research I have done it looks to me like both vacuums come with the same accessory kit. Will see what comes in the box.

        • Thanks guys, got her the blue one! Hopefully its better than the one she already has.

  • +1

The red one also has a wider wheel base and bumper and longer cord. There is info on it in the last deal that I linked to.

  • +1

Bought the red one. Hopefully this lasts 10+ years.

    • +1

Good choice, I'm sure you will be very happy with it.

  • +1

Coupon code SUNNY5 for 5 pounds off 50 pound spend ending sometime tomorrow I believe ;)

    • +2

Coupon not working on me. However, if you want to get the other colour for the same price (GBP 99.99) you can use '10OFFH' code. I just bought Hetty for my missus :).

  • +1

Thanks Op I bought 2 and used my 10% coupon which was in my email trash
    a clean house = a clean mind

cant believe its free postage imagine shipping this to uk from au

    • +1

I couldn't remember if it was free or not, I'm sure I have been charged £0.99 for it before.

And the boxes they come in are huge, if you had to return it I'm sure it would cost a fortune to send it back.

Out of curiosity, which ones did you buy?

  • I got 2 reds and i selected international tracking which was free but it said something about ordering over a certain amount and you get free tracking just can't remember exactly

    This deal sucks…

    • +3

Still lot of people have been sucked into this deal.

  • Red sold out already??… Not quick enough :-(

  • +1

    Differences between red and others:

    http://www.averncleaningsupplies.com/blog/2011/04/henry-or-n…

$15 difference, would have probably just gone the blue. Also coupon doesn't seem to work.

  • As good as the Morphy Richards vacuum that was on earlier?

  • +1

I dont understand these things, they look like a $60 shop vac? Are they really that good? Are they top-heavy from having the motor in the lid?

How would they compare to a dyson DC29?

  • Do the hut ship to PO Boxes?

  • +1

    Hi
Just wondering if you can use this vac on high gloss floor boards?

  • Does this use horred bag's?

    • it uses micro-flo bags. but sounds like they are reusable.

      can anyone clarify

      danke schon

  • How would these go with dog hair. I have a golden retriever that leaves visible hair on the floor which normally has to be raked first.

    • Read a few reviews that indicated it handles dog hair with no issues on the above amazon link…

    • +1

I have a cleaning business and recommend this vac. I used to clean a vets surgery and this is the vac they had and they and I used. Very good for pet hair.

  • Shipping is coming up as £11.99 for me…

Edit: Oh it's only for the yellow one. The Hetty (pink one) seems to come up with the 0.99 option.

  • We had one of these at the office, definitely a decent vacuum !

  • Good deals

Missed out on the Red one.

Got the 11% off code from Zavvi so tried to use the code for the Blue one…no luck..said the code not apply for the Blue one.

Then the Yellow one, Successfully added with 11% off but shipping is £11.99.

I will spare the Pink one this time and will wait for the next offer.

    Thanks OP for sharing

    Have a good day

    • What's the 11% off code?

Can use 10OFFH for $10 bucks off over 100.

      • @Risser

This is unique code otherwise I have already shared this with your guys.

These things are unwieldy pieces of shit.

I've owned a Henry vacuum for a year now and it's a complete paperweight. The castor wheels on the bottom have the turning circle of a Mack truck and the maneuverability of a shopping cart; you basically have to pick it up and carry it everywhere as it's just too wide to drag around an average home without getting snagged and stuck on things. The weight of the thing (easily as heavy as a late 80's Hoover) makes it impossible to drag it over any rugs or floor mats without scrunching them up.

Then there's the design of the unit itself; the power cord comes out of the detachable black motor unit at an angle for some bizarre reason, so it often has a tendency to just wrap itself around the vacuum and tangle up the castor wheels like something of out Star Wars when those Snowspeeders tangle up the AT-ATs with tow cables.

The only selling point with this I can think of, is that it does have a 9L capacity bag which means bag changes are far and few in between; however used vacuum bags are hypoallergenic biohazards and in my opinion should be changed frequently anyway (or better yet go bagless already).
I don't want several months worth of dust, food waste, pet hairs, filth and assorted insects sitting inside a cupboard just fermenting into some bio-mass from outer space.

The suction power is pretty damn poor (1200W with the "boost" button on), it has serious trouble breaking open thick carpet or furniture fibres to extract crud trapped in between them and being that it obviously doesn't have a power-head it takes several runs over carpets and furniture to get out those dug-in pet hairs or crumbs. This vacuum is all-muscle work, if you don't like the idea of having to vacuum the same spot four times while ramming the head into a couch with all your strength like you're a Crocodile wrangler, then don't buy it.

Would not recommend this thing for the elderly or infirm as it'd probably be too much elbow grease.

It is however a very quiet vacuum as a result of the lacklustre motor; not the kind where people walking past the front of your house know someone's doing the Sunday cleaning when the vacuum is switched on.

The attachments are useless as well, being way too big, cumbersome and awkwardly shaped to suck dust and debris from crevices and tight spaces or in the spaces underneath entertainment units, bookshelves and beds.

A seriously disappointing vacuum given the inordinate amount of hype and praise this thing gets and it's widespread usage by professional cleaners, which actually might explain why hotel room carpets are so goddamned filthy if Henrys are the vacuum of choice for most hotels.

Mate, your review is gold. Saved me some $$$ too…

I would have to disagree with nearly all of what you have said.

You can pull it sideways and it will turn straight to the side, I don't know what you are saying it has the turning circle of a truck for and mine cant get snagged on anything, you can even pull it around doors, corners and furniture because of the rounded bumper at the front it just slides around it with ease.

I vacuum twice a week and have never had a problem with the cord wrapping around itself, you can even drag the vacuum right over the cord and doesn't get tangled and it just goes right over it. I cant see how it could wrap around itself at all actually.

Yes it uses a bag (hepaflo bag, the same material as they use for asbestos to catch microscopic particles) which is about the only thing you wrote that makes any sense to me.

This thing lifts the carpet off the floor its that powerful, I have to use mine on low and open the valve on the handle to lower the suction just to be able to vacuum my floor without lifting the tiles off the ground. It also lifts my brother thick carpet off the ground on high but works fine on low and leaves nothing at all behind. I would be happy to record it on video to show you how powerful it is despite the ideas you have about it.

My mother is in her late 60s and I bought her the pink one, she loves it and vacuuming is a breeze for her now. She just uses it on low (as high high feels like overkill) and gives her carpets a quick vacuum once a week and her place is always spotless.

I also agree with you that it is rather quiet, it has nothing to do with having a weak motor as it is powerful. It is just part of the design, and if you stand behind it you will feel a powerful flow of air behind it where it comes out.

The attachments are fine, the are like every other attachments I have ever seen for vacuums, they are also high quality strong plastic. I am 6'6" and 120kg, I stepped on one by accident and thought I would have broken it, to my surprise it didn't have any cracks and was not deformed at all.

And as for the last part why would 1000s of cleaning companies use them if they are useless?

99% of all reviews say its the best they have ever used, and I agree.

I think if you have ever used one then it had problems like it was used for fine dust for years without using a bag or the bag was full when you tried it etc, thats not ordinary performance like for the 2 I have bought and used.

    • My hand was shaking so hard from laughing, I had to stop for a moment to prevent accidentally negging you.

I totally agree with Amar89, There is some strange unexplainable cult following of these Henry vacuums, (maybe it is simply the face creating the illusion of personality) I have in the course of my job in the hotel industry used dozens of these and they are a rather unimpressive unit, I would recommend an inexpensive wet/dry shopvac purchase over these everytime.

    @Amar89 and banjofran

Thanks for your great review and recommendation.

They are priceless and I valued that.

    Cheers

  • When will these vacuum manufacturers get their act together and actually supply a HEPA filter rating. (Most do not)

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HEPA#Specifications

'HEPA Filtration' means nothing without numbers.
