Of course the x100s has the Hybrid viewfinder and leaf shutter and cost $1000 more. Otherwise they are very similar (APS-C sensor, 32/2 equiv lens).
Don't you think the optical qualities of the lenses would be different? Let alone the fuji being 10 times better.in terms of the construction and form factor
The Canon 22/2 is very good. Similar to my old x100. Same as the construction.
you are like comparing a bicycle to a motorbike. yes both have two wheels and handle bars but that doesnt make them very similar.
Two things make a good camera: sensor and lens. x100s and EOS-M + 22/2 are very similar. Considering the $1000+ price difference, I think it is relevant for the money conscious OzBargainer to know similar alternatives. Also I don't think your analogy applies here, maybe something like x100s vs. Sony RX1.
You really think someone who has set their sights on an X100s would consider an EOS-M? and vice-versa? Two different market segments

Get the camera from Teds, leather case from elsewhere and it will still be cheaper than $1400. As to the pre-order comment, it is shipping from HK anyways, at least you get a local warranty with Teds. Definitely no deal here.

The official x100s case is crap. As an x100s owner I was pretty excited when my local store got some in. All excitement was dashed as soon as the sales attendant opened the case for me to take a look.
Also as some others have pointed out, it is cheaper locally. I also have had a bad experience with digirev with my Tamron 90mm.
