Surcharges apply if over 95kg - Payable of arrival – due to assessment

95Kg and over - Surcharge of $25 applies
100kg and over - Surcharge of $50 applies
105kg and over - Surcharge of $100 applies

wow……… tall people need not apply

My friend is 6,4 tall and he is approx 90kg. He's a pretty "standard build too".

Sucks to those much taller than 6,5 or so, but in this case I would say fat people need not apply.

      • This is a tandem jump, so I think this rule is in place to protect the instructors who don't want to injure themselves trying to control and land while attached to customers.

So how does $25/50/100 help them not get injured???

        • I'd personally rather have $100 and a stuffed ankle than just the stuffed ankle.

i dont think you would find to many people that tall and that light. guy musnt be very fit/strong/have any muscle. im just over 6'4 and only been under 100 in my teens when i looked like a stick figure.

        • +1

6'4" is 1.95m, and healthy weight range is 75 to 95kg.
Anything more probably means a large waist and is overweight. So 95 is probably below average these days, since were all so fat.

  • Any chance of the same deal in Melbourne, rep? Pretty please? :)

Brisbane's best skydiving company will look after them during the experience. Boasting more than 1,000,000 jumps, an impeccable safety record and almost 500 years experience

    500 years experience? :P

    • +1

      500 "cumulative" years! :P

    I love the marketing:
*Utilising a purpose built skydiving plane with wide doors and spacious interior.
I have never been on a spacious skydiving plane. Even a skyvan is packed if you load it to capacity. Mind you most people won't notice as they will be way to nervous.
*Latest modern parachutes equipped with backup automatic parachute deployment computer
AAD's are a requirement. You cant do a Tandem jump in Australia without one. Hardly a feature.

I think the surcharges are a bit rich. I have never heard of Tandem Masters getting paid more for heavier passengers, I doubt this happens. Its probably more for fuel charges, but still on the expensive side.

None the less this does seem like a decent deal. My advice is say no to drogues and do a solo, much more fun.

  • it's great to see the price drop. but sometimes price drop also means quality drop too. hopefully we dont see second tier parachute handed out to the fallers~~~ Have fun

with the possibility to operate the parachute.

I'd prefer to think that the parachute operating was non-optional.

There are some things in life where maybe you might not want to go to the bargain basement.
Is skydiving a case where cheapest is not always best??

Is this the only company in Australia charging a fat tax?
