  • Nice find OP some good deals on the site. +1

  • going skiing in 2 weeks, do you think this would make a difference under a ski jacket?

I wouldn't wear polypro, merino is a far nicer material in my opinion and worth the extra cost to stay warm and dry. I've also found Kathmandu gear to have poor build quality in recent times (jackets and bags at least) so wouldn't be buying from them without checking out the other outdoor brands first (I keep an eye out for Macpac / Icebreaker sales).

      • I too have the noticed the quality getting worse for Kathmandu jackets. If you are in Sydney there are a whole lot of "adventure" type shops in Kent Street from corner of Market to Druitt, most are in sale mode including Macpac.

          nothing wrong with the polypro's.
sure the merino ones are better, but they are more expensive as well.

to wear under a ski jacket (or to wear under my uniform in 3am -5 canberra winter nights) they work perfectly well.

the polypro's at $10 are better than $20 target ones EASILY.

        • Whats a decent price for the merino ones I should be paying? I'm from Sydney, can checkout the CBD stores next time I pop into the city.

My local Kathmandu store had hundreds of these on display. If you are heading into a store, look for them in little brown boxes.

Look at the ThermaPlus range too which is 3 for $69 down from $59.98 each. In person, seemed better quality and fit with nicer styles than the unisex range. For women, I found I needed to go down one size from normal.

If you can spend a little more, i would recommend the thermaplus for better breathability and comfort compared to polypro. It's still cheaper than the merino.

      • I'd second this comment, this year hubby and I bought before the sales the ThermaPlus and Polypro, we're active and use them daily, the Polypro I'd not buy again, but the Thermaplus I'd highly recommend - we've gone back to buy more and since I have a trip to Nepal coming up thinking of maybe buying more still…

  • great find
so many people dress normally and freeze when they go out

Here is the size chart from the $9.98 unisex PolyPro box if it helps anyone:

Personal recommendation for ladies - look at the chart for your size, then drop down one size again. Because these are unisex the arms are longer than normal for women.

  • Thanks OP!!!

Just picked up 2 long john thermals for $30 delivered…. cant go wrong with that!
Shouldve bought more, as I can never get XL's when I'm looking elsewhere.
    Thanks again.

  • Thanks, perfect timing.

  • cool, good for motorbike riding (hopefully)

  • Me and the missues spend more then 1000 dollars on Kathmandu's items, I'm getting worry.

    • Just added it up and I've spend $390 there since the sale started, worked out that at their normal prices I would have spent $1400! It pays to buy on the first two days for an extra 10% off.

      • +1

Unfortunately these days many of Kathmandu's "normal" prices are ridiculous. Their psychology of apparently large discounts falls flat if you shop around. The days when it sold gear at reasonable prices are long gone.

  • Are the guys here getting one size smaller than their usual?
I normally wear something like 30" for my pants.. converting to cm is would be their XS…
I used to wear S.. but I'm slowing moving to M (due to gym/fitness/gettingfat/ect).

    • Normally wear a small shirt but fit medium and large fine. There was no size small to compare though.

Medium was more fitted. Large was slightly baggier but still slimmer than most size small shirts.

Can't say much about the pants as there was nothing by the time I reached the Auburn outlet store

  • OP might want to add this deal ends Tuesday 25th June according to the email. It is a "weekly sale" special only, not this low price in the catalogue.

    • Thanks, done.

  • Is it the same price if I'm picking it from the store?Thx.good finding Ops.

    • Yes it is. I just dropped by the Blackburn (VIC) store. They have plenty left of everything, except for XL sizes which seem to be all sold out.

  • BOUGHT 4 LOL

  • Thanks OK.

Chatswoord Outlet store was running low at lunchtime today (Sunday), while the Westfield had quite a bit of stock, but folks like me were buying 4 or 6 at a time, so I guess good luck!
