This is pretty good comparing with the Mac air 11' on Dicksmith at the moment…more for Win fan.

$839 at MSY.
And if you're in Victoria, the NP530U3C-A08AU is $769 at the moment.
My MacBook Air is the best windows laptop i've ever had. Just delete mac os, and install windows. I always buy Mac hardware because it is so well designed. Not sure what the fans are like on these newer ones, but the air is silent, solid, magnet power connector is actually really handy. And the trackpad is amazing!
Is it that easy? Can you just format the drive and install windows, or are there issues that you need to be aware of?
it is that easy. i have both osx and win8 on my rmbp.
I hear that battery life, touchpad is not great with windows on mac. Is that true?
I don't see why not, windows is pretty well optimised for Intel CPUs, and windows 8.1 will have amazing improvements with the current gen 4 Intel has well CPUs.
@ spaceninja,
tbo, i heard same things. but i do not notice, maybe it is just because i always use osx :)
if i do need a winX laptop, i use my company laptop.
No the battery life is just a tad bit lower… say 10%. However the biggest peeve with win on MacBook is the fact that it takes more than a min to boot (as opposed to about 15 sec on my thinkpad) Apple does it on purpose to dissuade us. But the best windows utlrabook is the MacBook air with win 8 (now only if it had a touchscreen) :)
LOL at whoever said that to you. Mac has got the best trackpad that can be used with Windows 8. All others drives me crazy
Yes. Why would you do that? Dual boot and parallels gives you the best of both worlds. Uefi, maybe.
How about storage space. If I got the 128GB model I'd be running out of room pretty quick with two OSes each on their own partition wouldnt I? So the 256GB model would be recommended.
I'm thinking of diving into the mac world soon so I've got lots to learn :)
UEFI, thats the new BIOS for win 8 isnt it. Does this play nice with macs and dual booting with mac OS?
Not everyone wants to us OSX.
you r right the storage. mine rmbp has 256gb, but still not enough. i only installed two ops, offices and diablo3 and starcraft 3 (i have not played these two games for long time).i moved all the music and photos to external hd. still have to be very careful. BUT, i am planning to upgrade the storage as soon as the warranty expires.
however, as far as i know, air cant upgrade storage. maybe i am wrong.
Just install Boot Camp so you have the best of both worlds.
It's really easy to do and I have mine as Windows boot up by default and MAC OS X as a backup but I do agree with jason3w that the Macbook is the best hardware you can get. Battery life is amazing too compared to other brands.
I actually find the mac trackpad on windows really really buggy, double clicks when it is not supposed to etc..and battery life is definitely poor when i run windows.

You know the drill.
The Macbook trumps this laptop.
because?
IPS (retina). Full ssd. Mac os
comparing apples and oranges again…
you mean comparing apple and samsung again.
But what if I don't want people mistaking me for an Arts student at uni?
LOL
why do you care about these people who reckon anyone that uses an apple laptop is an arts student?
you know what kind of people they are usually? ;)
i got mine from msy at the begining of the year for around this price. Thought it would have dropped by now. Ive had it for 6 months now n the ad for the battery is BS! All i used mine for was movie/uni and now the battery like at max charge is about 3hrs, sent mine to samsung to get the battery changed.
Also i would recommend buying an extra 8gig ram stick for it. bit sluggish without it running win 8 x64.
I'd like a Macbook but storage is the only thing stopping me. On the 128gb, theres like already 20 something gbs worth of preinstalled stuff so really you are left with roughly 100gb left only, how is that supposed to last
Put everything non essential, as in your HD Brazzer Downloads on an external HD. Remember just in like 07, (woah that is along time ago) 120GB on a Laptop was luxurious. Who am I kidding, those are essential.
cmon OP…. a little lazy dont you think??
