Dolphin Bluetooth Handsfree Speakerphone $12.99 from Woolworths

290

Great little bargain from Woolworths - found in my local store, north side of Brisbane. Bluetooth handsfree speakerphone kit for the princely sum of $12.99. I've got one and use with my iPhone 3GS it works fantastic - nice and loud, and never had a problem with voice clarity. Lithium-ion recharable battery with cigarette lighter charger included. Can't go wrong for that price!

I can't find it on the online store - just have to try looking in your local store I guess.

I thought this looked a lot like a rebranded generic Chinese thing, and I was right:

Having said that, $2.50 more for local + warranty is worth it aye?

hi toomuchdogfur, yes it looks the same hey. Yeah I guess you might be right - having an easy warranty (if need be) and an instant purchase while buying your weekly milk and coco pops makes it pretty convenient ;)

  • I mentioned this in a previous post a few days ago. Works well with windows phones for voice commands and it reads out SMS messages etc. I payed full price a month ago.

  • Does it have a 3.5mm input as well or purely bluetooth? Does it have a battery or will only work plugged into the cigarette lighter?

    • hi mobo, no it doesn't have a 3.5mm input for audio. Yes it operates on a lithium-ion battery and seems to work for a long time before requiring charging from the cigarette lighter.

    Is there a vegan option?

  • What suburb in Brisbane?

  • I bought one for a family member (back in January for $16.50).

Pressing the main button will trigger voice dialing. On Android (JB 4.1) it has a dedicated voice dialer app - and I found that the speech recognition was very poor.

Does anyone know if it is possible to trigger the voice search (i.e. Google) app instead? Then you could do proper voice commands like starting navigation.

  • can confirm on special @ GreenValley Woolie as well. I got a Magnavox which is a re-badaged version and worked ok, battery seems last a long time. Mine is multipoint but can't get the voice dialing on my HTC to work though.

  • Can anyone confirm if it works on laptops as well?

  • What is the sound quality like? Could you use these as laptop speakers to listen to music or is it not loud/clear enough?

    • No I wouldn't recommend it for music. The quality is not great, because it's purpose is for conversations, but it is perfectly fine for speech.
