Demac 1200 Watt Electric Impact Driver/Rattle Gun eBay Special $99

10

A 1200 watt adjustable torque impact driver/rattle gun.
I've been watching these for awhile - they are normally posted at $130. Looks like a pretty good deal to me - and I've grabbed one myself as I'm tired of taking my conventional pneumatic rattle gun - along with my air compressor - out to the race track. This has gotta be a better, more compact solution. No specific dates but I understand this is a one week only deal.

  • Does anyone know how accurate these are? Calibration schedule?
Also, was $89 not long ago

    • $89? Damn!

I paid $99 shipped but I'm not concerned. And I'm not at all bothered by how accurate the calibration is - in fact I wouldn't expect it to be anything like spot on - I'll use my torque wrench for that. For me, this is just a handy, mobile way of attacking countershaft sprocket nuts and wheel nuts without having to drag an air compressor with me everywhere I go. That's the killer about conventional pneumatic rattle guns - they look like a great idea until you need to be mobile with them, and then the compressor is a real ball and chain.
For me, 240 volt is also better than cordless because 240 volt packs more punch, and I don't use a rattle gun often enough to justify cordless - you can bet the battery would eventually die from lack of use.

  • I got one a while back to remove the nuts from the top of the shocks, it's pretty damn heavy so might be a bit awkward to use depending on the application.

Works well, I wouldn't trust the torque dial though :)

    • that's not enough power to unleash on my nuts.
