  • How long do you think this will be available for? I'm getting my niece a VPN and Netflix for her birthday on the 14th and I'd like to get the VPN as close to her birthday as possible…

  • If anyone signs up for this, please post the speed test result of the US server.

  • Howdy there PlayerOne
    Thanks alot for that link
was looking for a VPN service.
Djkizz the service is free for 1 year
you ll get a program license number on the email
    Thanks heaps
    Cheers

    • I meant the privateinternetaccess deal. My niece will use it on her ipad which I dont think the Steganos deal allows.

  • Is it possible to configure VPN on the router settings instead of having to install the software on each computer?

    • Yes, but it depends on what router you have. Some have VPN settings.

What's your point? They are on the list.

      • +1

        Exactly. Rohanp16 was being helpful.

      • Prisonerzero I didn't mean it in a condescending/demeaning "I'll just leave this here" tone. It was more of "I haven't read the whole article yet but it seems relevant since they are on there" manner.

        Hope it helped ! :)

I'm lazy, so I'm asking this. Has anyone checked the T&C to see what personal data is kept? I would like to get a VPN, but I'm cautious of free ones considering the privacy implications. Anyone been using this without any issue? And yeah, speed test would be great.

EDIT: Thanks to rohanp16, your comment appeared after I posted mine.

Been using this for a few months. Very happy with it.

Using this to connect my Kindle HD Fire back to Amazon in the US. Using it to watch the prime videos, download apps, etc.

Highly recommended if u you have a Kindle HD Fire

Also used it in China to gain access to facebook.

This comes highly recommended on Reddit's /r/VPN (it's the best VPN provider, in their opinion)

I've been using PIA for about 3 months (they had this identical deal a back in March) and they've been rock solid. I'm in Melbourne and speeds to US websites when connected to US California servers are about 5mpbs, without VPN it's about 5.5mpbs. Minor differences.

I use OpenVPN, and have it set up to automatically connect when my computer starts up. Hasn't been any downtime.

I've set up my routes table to avoid the VPN and route traffic through my router normally for Youtube, as that's generally where a VPN isnt required and the extra bit of speed has benefit. All downloads/general browsing is via VPN and for the most part, I can forget it's even connected.

Definitely a good purchase, considering how many junk "free" VPN providers offer a crap service.

  • What's the usual price for 12 months (i.e., what are we saving?)

    • +1

      $40 a year normally, so you're saving about $8

  • Can this replaces BTguard?

    • I've tried both providers, PIA has considerably faster speeds to US west coast, but about the same to European nodes.

  • This would be priced in USD so a bit more for AUD.

For those interested in speeds, this page allows you to do a speed test to each of their servers:

Does this support multi login? I use strong vpn and they recently disabled the multi login soon after signing up for a year. Highly annoyed with that!

  • Disabled all addons and tried 3 browsers, cannot get the "Buy now" button to work for the life of me.

  • Am I able to choose what I route through the VPN? or is "ALL" traffic via the VPN once I connect?

I ask, due to the use of online gaming.

    • Still no reply? fair enough.
