Olympus Tough TG-320 14MP Water/Shock/ Freezeproof Camera $115 Delivered @ OW

Key Features

Waterproof, Shockproof, Snowproof, Dustproof - Waterproof to a depth of 3 metres, shockproof from heights up to 1.5 metres and snowproof at temperatures as low as -10°C. Olympus’ sophisticated system of double seals protect the camera’s inner casing, while a double-lock mechanism prevents users from unintentionally exposing the card slots, ports and battery compartment underwater.

Dual Image Stabilisation– optical CCD shift image stabiliser plus high ISO (1600) work together to counteract blurred images due to shaky hands, subject movement, or when shooting in low-light conditions. Also important at full zoom where a small movement of the hand can cause a lot of movement at the other end.
3.6x Optical Zoom 28mm Wide Angle Lens – Zoom in to your subject; or with the 28mm wide angle you can fit in the frame sweeping landscapes, groups, close-up underwater shots. Non-protruding zoom.

3D Photos (Even Underwater) - Discover the depth of 3D stills. From macro shots to landscapes, Olympus’ 3D technology shoots two pictures and combines them into one image for a dramatic effect when viewed on a 3D device.

Face Detection - focuses and sets correct exposure on faces rather than other picture elements that might be in the foreground or background.

Shadow Adjustment Technology - brightens shadowy areas in a composition without overexposing the brighter areas.

Intelligent Auto - Automatically identifies the scene you’re shooting and adjusts the settings for optimal results.

AF Tracking - Keeps focus locked on a moving subject – good for sports, wildlife, kids, pets etc.

In-built Panorama – easily create stunning panoramic images.

Magic Filter Effects - Get creative with your photography – select one of the magic filters to add expression to your photos. Choose from 8 Magic Filters, Pop, Pin Hole, Fisheye, Sketch, Soft Focus, Punk, Watercolor and Sparkle. Six effects can also be used with movies.

Beauty Mode - touch up the appearance of your subject's skin as the photo is captured, enhancements that typically would necessitate retouching in a graphics editing program.

Pet Mode - automatically detects dogs’ and cats’ faces and takes the shot at the best possible timing. Can detect up to 10 pet faces.

Super Macro - take stunning close-ups as near as 2cm away from subject

Tap Control - you can use the camera while wearing thick gloves by tapping the sides and screen

HDMI Output Control - for operations including image selection and frame-by-frame advancement using the remote controller of an HDTV*/**

  • Whats this one like compared to the last one? http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/103735

    • Consensus appears to be that the Canon is better value.

  • Going to be some grumpy people from the DSE deal where they offered this camera as an alternative to the Canon Powershot D20 at $133.50.

  • +5
    • lol, another crazy price from DJ, whoever taking care of DJ online price should be sacked.

  • Out of stock?

  • I bought same one (same model in red) from Target a month or so ago, paid $39.95 with ING Direct card (received $1.98 rebate from Ing), so technically I only paid $37.97 for it.

    • -1

Wait… what? You paid under $40 for THIS camera? Did you post the deal?

    • actually that was the TG310, older model but specs is pretty similar. Target still have them for that price but you'd be lucky to find stock. Note that the orange colour one is $70, the blue and red are $40

      • Maybe you are right, I really can't remember. It is sitting in my car ATM, too lazy to have a look. By the time I got it, there were many available all in red. Sorry I didn't post as I was too lazy to register an account…

  • The higher specs TG-820 model was being run out at DSE for $96 recently here http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/100507 (yes its a Canon thread-scroll down!) and Target was doing the TG-310 (basically the same but a year earlier) for $39.83 if you were quick. http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/100955
These cameras are OK-ish but the zoom is only x3 which would get old pretty quick outdoors along with other limitations. There are better "tough" cameras out there.
So not bad a deal normally but must be considered against all the others.

Really? 3X zoom makes it fit for little more than a kids' toy.
