They're clearing it out because hardly any one who buys new video equipment uses component video any more. It's all HDMI now.

My Amiga 500 monitor used SCART. That was the first and last time I needed a SCART cable.

Think of the possibilities.. from Component you can go to VGA and then DVI. Then maybe HDMI.. and HDMI to DP?
