According to this, they will be rotating the deals throughout the day (800 SKUs with total quantity of 40,000) to cover a bunch of other products too. Check back whenever you can to see if theres anything new!

They have pushed out another list of more items! It does verify the theory that the initial page was for DX AU deliveries whilst this is the International 50% off section. Please be aware that there will be longer delivery times for this since it needs to be shipped directly from China as opposed to the DX AU (which apparently has warehouse in Perth).

Update 3:
Offer is pretty much officially "Ozbargained" with the only remaining stock to be either very specialist products (Spare battery for product x), Seasonal products (Christmas), or stuff that not many people want. The only thing I am hoping for is that they can fulfill all orders so everyone is happy.

DX has subtly stated however, (Broken English) "If the customers who participate in this activity are more than expected which results in lack of product supply, we have to process refund for the oversold items, please kindly understand." which may account for some people's Paypals reported refunded against.

Update 4:

Have to apologise in advance to anyone who doesnt get the stock for this deal. Despite being the OP and putting the order through before others, I have now received a cancellation against my two orders (W8 and PD10). It is seemingly like a lottery to get stock. Very very disappointed. :(

Update 5:

After a disappointing weekend, DX has now come back to affected customers with a voucher that's worth 15% of the original total order. So, if your order was $200, then they will give you back $30 worth as a rebate in compensation to be used in DX. Apparently the stock is still available - but not it has changed to a different SKU but they are offering 15% off the original price. This is pretty beneficial if your original order was expensive (and hence you can get back a higher rebate value) - but typically most would only have done a $200 order with $30 rebated.

As you can see, the deal is nowhere near as good as before. However, it is up to you as an individual to see if it is still good value enough to continue making the purchases.

      If you paid via PayPal, go make a complaint. It costs them extra money if you make a complaint. You get full refund.

      Seriously, don't get your hopes up. They will hold onto your money as long as they can and cancel when they feel customers are getting agitated. They might also offer you a 'free' pig nose led flashlight as compensation.

  • I have just noticed that as soon as I filed a complaint via PayPal, the order status in DX changed from "Cancelled" to "PendingPayment - Order has been created, awaiting payment".

        • The total disputed over to be recovered is ~$2.50USD less than what I fully paid. Did PP take that as processing fee or is it due to our now lower AU-USD currency exchange rate?

        • Actually you should be getting 2% MORE AUD back than what you have paid on 15/05.
          The Aussie lost 2% since last Wednesday. DX held your money in USD and they are now worth more Aussies than at the time you bought. Probably you got slugged by conversion fees on your CC.
          Use a 28° CC to avoid this.

  • Wow- I made one of the first orders for their non-AU direct sales, and I'm concerned.

    My status is still "Payment Confirmed" with notes that "Payment verfied- order is being processed".

    From what i've read here- those contacting via LiveChat are having their orders cancelled.

    I can't decide if it's worth the risk contacting them…?

    • I suggest that if your order has not yet been cancelled by them to wait it out as you can still have hope that you one of the lucky ones to get something out of this fiasco (fat chance tho IMHO).

  • At least I got an instant paypal refund for the item they cancelled (within a few hours of ordering).

    I've found you can get pretty much anything you see on dealextreme from ebay/aliexpress instead for the same price or less. Shipping is usually quicker as well.

    Plus there's tons of other sites like buyincoins, manafont, goodluckbuy etc.

    My led strip from this offer will probably not turn up either :(

        • DX charge in USD, I paid Paypal the equivilent in AUD at their rate. (Something pathetic like .95). AUD dropped around %2 so expected to make a profit but they returned the money so it matched what I paid exactly in AUD. So Paypal probably made a profit on the whole process due to the differing exchange rates.

    My order for PD30 was confirmed, backordered and then confirmed. Now it is showing prepare for shipment. Spoke to them on the webchat and Eric, this rep said that it may take 20-30 business days to arrive!!! Gave me the shock of my life. Then he said it will arrive in 7-12 days. I don't think he knows what he is talking about. 30 days to receive a parcel, are they FOR REAL??!! I am considering alternatives as this is false advertising. On their FAQ they mentioned 5-7 days for international delivery.

    • International orders usually take 3-4 weeks for delivery via China Post.

      AU direct orders take 3-5 days delivery via Toll Express.

      • Thats what they say to keep you getting angry & frustrated (in other words, 'to drag this out longer'). After those 30days have passed they tell you they couldn't secure any stock or cancel your order & refund like the current situation. You'd really be fuming by then!

    Oh, well, I got refund from them. I myself cancelled part of my order before my whole order being "officially" cancelled by them.
    So now I received 1st refund on my AMEX card.
    I got an email from them saying they are processing 2nd refund. Hopefully, I will see the refund in next couple of days.

  • Oh ffs, just got an email about canceled orders. Was relieved to see that it was only for a couple minor items. Then I get on DX.com and realize ALL my orders are canceled. I have used DX quite extensively for about 4 years. Nice one DX, I will not be using you again.

    About time we started making a list of DX alternatives. Is there one on the ozbargain forum?

    What really pisses me off is that I wasted a few (work) hours shopping on dx.com during the sale. What a waste of time.

    Well looks like I will wait for the Nexus 7.2.

          lol, it was aud/usd was around 99c when made the purchase, it is now 97c. So when you convert his transaction back into AUD you make around 3% of the transaction amount from forex currency swings alone

    well I got refunded already - just checked paypal as I was going to file a dispute. I do think Ozbargain should permaban these people and block all deals from their site being advertised here

    Just talked to Eric from live chat. He acknowledged the backlash from the customers and said they're trying to 'make up their mistakes as soon as possible.'

    My tablet still says Payment Confirmed and he said that it will definitely be shipped and they're trying to best to make sure all orders are shipped.

    I'm assuming they are trying to sort something out for people's orders that have been cancelled by their system/employees.

    More than likely nothing to come to the impatient people who manually cancelled :P

    My order cancelled also (ordered PD10HD at 5.58pm on 14/5 - this is DX time & date). I only read the updated thread this morning so created a PayPal dispute immediately at around 9am. I've just been refunded full price, with exactly the same AUD equivalent refunded so I guess PayPal made some money there on the exchange. I'm not out of pocket at all, however I will not buy from these guys again. This was my first and last order - no bargain is worth this hassle.

  • @jobs5000. I used living social and I got my vistaprinted stuff. Just last week too. Quite happy with it. and they combined shipping (putting the slow ship stuff - 21 days with the 7 day stuff) so I got all my stuff much quicker than anticipated.

  • Received an email for refund. Looked at my paypal, shows up as refunded. Still nothing in bank account. Assume it will take a day for it to process?

          Look at the refund notes - does it say refunded to credit card? if so I think it can take a day or two to show up?

  • Just got refunded both my orders in full without me raising a dispute. The refunds are being manually put through, so there's no chance of anyone getting their order changed from cancelled back to shipment at this point in time, as it seems they have no intention to.

          That Voriki is an absolute troll in every sense of the word. I've been on many meaningful and non-so-meaningful forums and he is very much high up there as being the ultimate as5wipe.

          Actually - have you noticed that those cronies are shutting up about the situation - now that theres a number of people joining in asking for their stock to be reinstated? The only one that is "active" is LAL with trying to find every reason to warn or dismiss people through their T&C's of the forum?

          Despite the depressing predicament - it is interesting to see the strength of a community banding together against a common issue.

          Otherwise I don't think we will get any compensation from DX. This isn't the first time they cancelled customer's order without authorization. They thought they can get away with it like they used to.

          Voriki, gasbag11, sheepish, and FallenArchangel are DX die hard fans. They will do anything to depend DX's image. LAL won't ban any of them even they're causing troubles, swearing or offending other customers.

          As I said at the beginning, don't bother wasting your time arguing with those clowns, you might get yourself banned without any reason.

  • I got my refund. Guess we are not gonna get our orders fulfilled… definitely the last time I order anything from DX… I've told all my friends and family who order from them too. It's a total boycott. There are better alternatives anyway.

      LAL is working so hard to censor it all.

      That's because he gets paid up to $300 weekly for being a Mod in their forum. Few ex-mods told me they get paid weekly depends on their performance.

      How do I know this? They broadcasted their email addresses on the footer of their post.
