  • Backlit keyboard?

    • Sorry, no backlit keyboard.

    I don't need a laptop, but you're really tempting me…

  • screen resolution is a bit of a let down

  • +1

Nice but I don't like such low res screens.

    • +3

I agree, but unfortunately this size can only support the 1366x768.

      • +7

1366X768 on an 11" screen will still look pretty darn good. You'll be able to run games at higher frame-rates and with higher settings anyway.

        • high res minecraft is an oxymoron

Thats a 11.6" screen!. Even most 15" laptops come with that resolution. To put that into perspective consider following common laptop resolutions and sizes:

      11.6" @ 1366x768 = 135PPI
      15.6" @ 1366x768 = 100PPI
      15.4" @ 1680x1050 = 128PPI
      15.6" @ 1920x1080 = 141PPI
      17.3" @ 1920x1080 = 127PPI

Excellent that you can easily upgrade to an SSD. This should be an option in more places.

    Or is it?

    • I think flingshot and shopping express will do upgrades if you request it.

But think of this the same as buying from Lenovo, Dell etc.

Could you please include postage in the price on the heading ($29.95) Thanks!

I've used one of these before.

Keyboard is not that great, they lack a 'good' feel and response and because of the compressed size, it's hard to type with.
Battery life is average - you'll get about 2 hours out of one.
Produces incredible amounts of heat out of the side vents. Not too uncomfortable to use though, just don't put it on your lap.
Screen res is fine because of the small size.

If this was a 13" with a better keyboard and bigger battery, it would be almost perfect.

    • Yeah keyboard is the pain and if you don't carry a mouse with you at all time, the touchpad always ruins everything while typing, should at least has an app to disable the touchpad temporarily while typing. The battery seems last much longer than 2 hours, I would say around 4 hours+ if not gaming.

      • FN+F1 should enable/disable touchpad temporarily.

Yeah I know, I turn the touchpad off this way when I have the mouse with me, but if I don't have it, can't turn it on and off everytime you need to click on a toolbar button or select something in the middle of typing.

you don't want 1080p on a 11.6" lcd, you know how tiny the text would be?!

    • iPad is 2048x1536 and nothing on that is too small, if your using Windows 8 it's designed for small screen + high resolution

      • windows doesn't scale up that well, and although i can read it fine lots of people still complain it's too hard to read, with the ipad it has the better lcd with high contrast, not all laptop screens are that good

  • +1

    Shame no SSD

  • 11.6"… I'd probably choose Surface Pro over this, I personally like 1080P screens cause it's easier to use Photoshop and Word etc, when the res is low it's quite annoying… have to scroll a lot.
I have an ASUS 11.6" F202 and it's fine with 1366*768, but only good when browsing the web.

    • apples and oranges my friend. too many differences to list

      • I know what you mean, but not that different IMHO, they are both PC (Or linux if you wanna install it on the Horize laptop), not like Android tablet vs PC

  • missed out on the last one you guys ran, would jump on another 15" special in a heartbeat!

  • +1

Oh no, breaking my heart this time.

Hang on, it's an i5 and 7200 rpm, not too much then.

  • I've got one (albeit currently for sale) and its been a great work laptop. I bought mine from Logical Blue One as well and they were fantastic to deal with. Jack was really helpful and dealt with any issues I had promptly.

I got the i7 quad core and coupled with an SSD this machine is very quick. I used mine mainly for design applications connected via HDMI to my main monitor at work.

I am a pretty heavy multitasker and the W110er never misses a beat. 2 USB3 ports and 1 USB2 is adequate and suited my needs. The screen pretty decent for its size and the keyboard, whilst not as great as many other larger laptops, got the job done when I took work on the road.

Battery life would be the biggest drawback. Nothing like my old Alienware m11x but I'd rather less battery life than live with a gimped CPU.

The included power brick is… big but I used a travel one and it worked great. I did install a few games, Arma 2, SWTOR, Planet side 2 and Sleeping Dogs played at high settings on a 1080p monitor without any problems at all.

Finally, the matte screen option is a terrific upgrade and good to see LBO have included it in this deal.

As I mentioned, my machine is up for sale but as Gumtree wont let me edit my add without paying a fee (!). PM if you are interested.

    • +1

Hey, u can edit, just do the edit, when you see the payment of fee, just ignore it and go back. Then your ad will be edited without fee. At least it works for me

      • It worked, just adjusted the price. Wanted $1.99 but I cancelled it when it wanted a PayPal payment. Thanks again.
