It is. I though about posting this deal myself.
    It is an excelent deal.
Very good camera. Get an adaptor for $135 and you can fit all Canon lenses.

  • Didn't this model sell for $900 plus few months before?

  • Woah that price dropped quick…very cheap indeed

  • not available online. and out of stock at most of the stores. can't even see the price online, so there's a chance DS might not honour it at $598.50

  • In stock Burleigh Heads and Runaway Bay on the Gold Coast…..very tempting.

  • Kogan the bogan have it for $569+delivery

    • Actually $579+ delivery as this is the twin lens kit. With the cash back, dick's deal is much cheaper + Aussie warranty. The main drawback with this camera from the reviews is the slow AF which as of today has still not been fixed by any firmware update.

      • A friend of mine has one. AF is reasonably quick. Sure, it depends on what you expect.

        • If you shoot the K-01, is it faster than the K-01?

        • I did tests a couple of days ago - a EOS M won it.
Pentax should definitely listen more to their customers and let their engineers to reveal full potential of their equipment.
          Otherwise they gonna lose people.
I'll be waitingg for 2..3 years more and if they are not going to change I'll sell my Pentax gear and will switch to Canon.

  • Picked up one from Narre Warren DS few days ago from (http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/101370). Claimed cashback and got email it is accepted. Nice little camera, feels solid. Also body made in Japan if it matters. Size and weight almost same as Sony.
    18-55 lens 60.9 x 61.0mm, 210g
    22 lens 60.9 x 23.7mm, 105g
    Body 109 x 67 x 33 265g

    • How is the image quality?

      • Tried only few shots at auto with 22 mm, even without flash indoor night shots are sharp and clear. AF is tad slow for night shots. If you want to expand its capability try ML, though it is in alpha stage for this model.

  • North Sydney has 1 in NSW if anyone is looking for one.

    Summary
    Pro
*Can use EF lenses with additional adaptor
    *Sensor from Canon 650D

    Con
*Very slow auto focus compare to other mirror less.
*Only 2 lenses are made for it at the moment (with out adaptor)

    • Here's another review. I like TCS reviews, they are totally brand agnostic.
      https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5PJoV9UQ8FE

That sensor? Its older than the 650D. Canon is resting on its laurels, as it has been for quite some time.

  • Got the last one (display unit) at Fountain Gate DS. Since it was a display, they took off an extra $50, and then they found the charger missing too, so took off another $100. Overall paid $450, so after cashback, would be $300! Very happy, thanks OP!

  • Auto focus is slow, don't bother using it for action shots or of anything moving, use the touch screen tap to focus feature for a tad quicker focus.
But the image quality is great, same sensor as all the latest Canon crop DSLRs, but the M lenses are better quality than the Canon crop kit lenses.
Handling is great, touch screen is awesome.

If you don't need fast auto focus, it's an amazing camera for this price and this size.

  • In WA, following stores are showing stock at the moment:
Whitfords City, Innaloo, Karrinyup, Ellenbrook, Belmont (low stock), Mandurah, Rockingham, Armadale, and Fremantle

  • Managed to get one this morning - guy in shop was surprised at the price

Looks like a pretty solid bit of kit

    COuple of questions :

Any cases that can accommodate one or both of the lenses (on the cam)?
Also - someone said you could get the EF adaptor for $135 - can't find it at this price anywhere - any ideas?

    • Try video pro.

  • $50 difference to the Samsung NX20 I just bought last week. Like the fact that this has the twin lens kit, touch screen and is smaller. Reading conflicting reviews but it seems decent.

  • Belconnen got plenty
