  • Anyone know travel dates?

  • Looks like all dates - half price on most flights I could find except those that are almost sold out. That's on the Perth-Melb route anyway.

  • yesterdays sale was cheaper..all their sales seem to be during the same period, so it usually pays to wait with tiger

  • I'm curious how many people have actually flown on Tiger….

I've flown on them quite a few times now, mainly because I'm a cheapskate (always Melbourne -> Adelaide and vice versa) - generally $60 return, per person (myself and my daughter).

The Adelaide terminal is fine because the planes "park" at the main domestic terminal, although they are usually right at the very end.

At Melbourne, they have a completely separate terminal, and the planes "park" quite a distance away from the terminal itself.

Summer heat + carring a 3 year old + carrying carry-on luggage for what feels like a kilometer to actually reach the plane is horrible… you definitely get what you pay for here.

Still though, even though I sook about it and at the time swear I'll never fly Tiger again, I usually do as their prices are too good to resist… sigh…

  • lol, unable to find any 2for1 offers out of perth?

    anyone secured any?

    • Adioso is great but i find that its prices are never very up-to-date…

are you the owner of adioso?

      • +1

Yep I'm one of the two founders.

Until recently Adioso has been a hobby-project but we're now working on it full time and putting a lot more effort into getting all pricing info more accurate. As of a couple of days ago it should be much better, although it's always hard keeping up with the sales. We're working tirelessly to improve it nevertheless.

We value any feedback or suggestions, so please keep them coming.

        • i appreciate the efforts to keep a website such as that up to date
its tough, i've tried to do it for one of my sites (in another industry) and was overwhelmed by the work involved and gave up

          • @twig: How do you make any money of the site? Advertising?

            • @Sunstar320: We don't.

We could run ads and make some decent money but we'd rather not clutter the site and sully the user experience. For some reason travel sites generally seem to be more ad-laden than most, so we're pretty keen to avoid that.

That said, we're not a charity; we have plenty of ideas on ways to generate income, but for the time being we're just focused on building a great site.

              • @AdiosoTom: Well I congratulate you on such a excellent idea and site. Its just so simple and easy to use!
