It is a good deal, I paid $8X last year for online download version.

    • Great deal, if you like being online only to play the game.

Hows the server availability, when it was released it was impossible to get on, Blizzard was handing out refunds.

      • +2

It's not an issue now, in fact for myself it wasn't issue from about 2 days after launch.

        • Really, internet says no. Try using it for more than games ;)

Initially the launches were hindered by heavy server load with many users getting various errors, including the error 37 which reads; "The servers are busy at this time. Please try again later (error 37)". These issues made the game unplayable for those affected, while some others experienced in-game bugs.[63][64] Despite assurances from Blizzard that the problems leading to the connection errors during Diablo III's launch had been resolved, Eurogamer reported on May 31, 2012 that these errors were still ongoing, and had reappeared after patch 1.0.2 was released for the game. Many fans complained that the ongoing problems have caused them to lose their hardcore (permanent death) characters.[65]

Yes, the server issues were not the problem. The game is not so good/fun to play. Torchlight 2 is cheaper and less boring.

        • +2

not to mention TL2 does not require you to be online and is not as resource intensive… fun to play while you have no decent internet access.

  • +5

Cost 4x this originally and it's worth about 1/4 of this now.

  • I quite like it… certainly less than I paid.

Good game for a casual gamer like myself.

Try Path of Exile. It has the gameplay of D3, without the downsides of the auction house. Oh, and it's free.

      • oooooo I'll check this out when I get home.

      • looks good. Thanks MrDog

      • thanks MrDog. was about to pull the trigger until i read this.

    • go torchlight 2 (I paid $56 for D3, and after 1 month it was repetitive and boring).

    • $4 delivery ?

  • Very tempting. All my friends are off it by now though lol.

  • +1

Yeah! already off from the game. Total play hr is : 139hrs (just checked)…

  • this game is dying i think…..at the start it's great when there are millions of ppl playing. NOw i am guessing probably half quitted already as it's just simply repetition only.

  • Bul-Kathos, hold my wallet!

wow this sucks i payed $120 from eb games, and my acocunt got hacked and most of the time im to busy to sit on the phone with blizzard teh suppot i should buy this

    • +1

      do blizzard answer their phone?

  • +2

You would have not paid $120 at eb games as rrp was $89.95 you idiot

    • +1

He could have got the collectors edition.

    • maybe he was one of those pre-paid suc..i mean plebs.

  • Ignore the internet limitation - Ignore the RM Auction house - Ignore all of the complaints regarding to consolitis.
Now you got a fun point & click semi-mmo action rpg.

  • Cheap but D3 is a disappointing game….

  • PS3 version = no AH, no need online… so the console version will be 100% better, gg.

Hours spent playing diablo 3: 4hours
Hours spent playing skyrim: 996 hours

    Diablo is terrible because of

    the auction house
the crafting/blacksmith mechanic is lucky dip lotto
terrible lag for up to and over a year since the release within a SINGLE PLAYER GAME
therefore rendering the game unplayable in any mode approaching hardcore
the stupid way that bosses could kill you arbitrarily because there were spells and effects that you could not micro yourself out of (although this has likely been addressed in more recent patches)

I thought I was getting a saving when I bought these games overseas. If I spent the 90-120 with an australian retailer instead, I would have returned that POS game within the first month.

I wholeheartedly agree with each article.

The debacle of diablo 3 also made me want to hold off on getting the new simcity, which seemingly is a good choice at this time.

    • i never went past the trial stage.. looks like i didn't miss much.

skyrim however, i'm still playing it since I got it at launch… too many damn quests.

as for SC….. i would say hold on till 3 mths after the launch date. if there is a company that can totally screw up a great game/franchise, I would say EA.

      • ankor and slowmo,

I paid ~70ish for D3. What a freakin' waste of money that was. Extremely boring and repetitive gameplay.

Skyrim OTOH, just keeps getting better with DLCs, mods etc. A true masterpiece of a game. :) I really wish I had asked Blizzard for a refund. Must've played it for 20hrs or so.

        • Can't agree with you guys. Although D3 is repetitive I found Skyrim totally boring and slow - played for an hour then returned it to EB…
