    is this megabuy?

  • This is just weird.

To add to that it appears the graphics details are incorrect, it should be 3000 not 4000.
And the system in the link has a 3317 cpu not a 2410.

Rep please correct the details, confirm the specs so you're not ripping people off.

  • The whole deal is rather deceptive.

Here http://www.powerbuy.com.au/refer/165E08C8FB/?target=/lenovo-… it says "Lenovo ThinkPad T430 - "A superb new keyboard and more than 13 hours of battery life make the ThinkPad T430 an excellent business laptop.". Review by Laptop Magazine."

Whilst here it says http://www.onlinecomputer.com.au/product_info.php?products_i… "Battery 3 Cell 47Wh - up to 7.1 hours"

There are other conflicts as well including one claiming Win 7 Pro X64 and the other Win 8 Pro.

Another case of let's throw it on Ozbargain and get some free advertising without pulling our finger out and sorting our deal out in the first place.

    • Agreed, this is just spam. $762 for an i5U with other low-end specs is ridiculous.

    • I think you might have it twisted ZRXS12. (Edit: Though you're right about the CPU in the original post seeming incorrect, it should be a Core i5 3317U ~2.6GH - better than that in the ozbargain offer descprition) Above that there are two totally different companies involved here.

      • PowerbuyIT.com.au the OP being a rep of is a/the marketing / promotions company that gives us the consumer a money back or discount for purchases made from purchases made online and not through them (sometimes if directly purchased from the manufacturer and sometimes only if made from a third party site that is NOT the manufacturer — this offer is the former)

      • Onlinecomputer.com.au is a/the retailer.

In this instance PowerbuyIT is directing you to an online retailer they think is giving a good deal for this unit which you can apply to get $120 back from PowerbuyIT immediately after purchasing from onlinecomputer.com.au.

It's confusing but do a search for the company in Ozbargain, the whole process and the company's credibility / reliability have been well documented. People seem to have all gotten their money back without complaint or delay.

Your quote about battery life from the Powerbuy website (which is talking about all T-series Lenovo's is specifically in reference to the T430 Thinkpad (standard) not the ultrabook).

The T430U (ultrabook - of which this offer and specs on onlinecomputer are detailing is for) has probably and justifiably less battery life.

In summary: only pay attention to the deal from the person selling it.

The moneyback is coming from the OP.

      Hope that helps.

(Just my futher two cents / lament: Having said all of that, even though this is still probably a good deal, I note this unit could have been purchased for $799 - $120 three days ago (I was going to by but had a hectic week) so missed the boat :(

      • I understand what you're saying but in that case they should have information that is relevant to the deal on offer.
To me it is misleading but rather obvious, but to some other people it may not be so obvious.

Personally I think it's a pretty average deal too spec wise there's lots of higher specd systems around, graphics performance suffers a lot with the 3317.

Here's the Lenovo offer http://shopap.lenovo.com/SEUILibrary/controller/e/auweb/Leno… the base model comes with a GT620M.

    i'm guessing its a 1,366 x 768 screen which means… NO DEAL

  • If the rep can clarify the specs to something that is half comprehensible, then it might be a good deal. A T series Thinkpad at this price range is pretty competitive.

  • Another 150-200 dollars will get your self a X1 Carbon
