Good website, informative, public hotspot monthly plan was interesting. Thanks. Marketing tip. Users that require cloud might prefer your service to those in other countries because the latency is shorter with DC being in Sydney.

  • If you're located in Regional Australia (outside of Aust. Post's Express Post next day delivery network), then add the Coupon Code: REGIONALAU for another 20% off too.

What? so 40% off we live outside of Australia Post's Express Post network? LOL

"so 40% off we live outside of Australia Post's Express Post network?"

Yes indeed. Regional Australia gets such a 'raw deal' on so many services (not just Internet related) and having lived in regional Australia, I've experienced it to know to give something back to those who live "off the beaten track".

Seriously impressed with the value, comparable to digital ocean, thanks for bringing this to my attention.

I have a cages and racks at several locations for my work and Equinix is very professional, one of the best DC's in Sydney without a doubt.

    • Yeah OzBargain is in Equinix SY3 :)

20% off first invoice? or life? :D

Also in details of HIGH POWER #1 VPS. it shows 4gb of ram. typo?

Also how much for additional ip addresses

    • "HIGH POWER #1 VPS. it shows 4gb of ram. typo?"

Yes, thanks and that's fixed now. That VPS Plan is 4 CPUs and 1GB of RAM, thanks.
(they're fast CPUs though too, min. clock speed of 3 Ghz of Intel CPUs)

"how much for additional ip addresses"

They're listed in our Professional Services pages and are $4/IP, but you get another IPv6 address too (as well as another IPv4 addr) and we can include an IPv6 /120 subnet in that too. See http://www.networkpresence.com.au/professional-services/extr…

      Thanks again,
      Richard.

"20% off first invoice? or life? :D"

Life, if ordered before May 31st 2013 (coupon expiry date).

      Regards,
      Richard.

      • Everything looks really good so I can't decide between all your products

Does the discount cover the CPANEL VPS?

        • "Does the discount cover the CPANEL VPS?"

Yes, sure. That's for any of our cPanel VPS Plans at http://netpr.es/cpanelvpsplans ordered by May 31st.

"I can't decide between all your products"

Hahah, I know, sorry, we've even reduced our # of plans on this website from our older website. :)

          Regards,
          Richard.

        • Thanks for your patience in all my queries. We can take it to email if you like but other people here may have similar questions

          So essentially

          Value - 1.8mhz CPU
          High Power - 4+ CPU 3ghz - lowish ram
          Core - 1+ CPU - High ram

What are Cpanel VPS based on. Seems balanced with 2gb/ 2 CPU
          Do they have RAID storage?

        • Happy to keep going here, please do email to sales AT networkpresence.com.au whenever you like.

          "Value - 1.8mhz CPU
          High Power - 4+ CPU 3ghz - lowish ram
          Core - 1+ CPU - High ram"

Broadly, yes. It's not hard'n'fast in those groups and often if a plan's general CPU speed is lower, they often are on platforms with faster disks, to try to balance out the features in some way.

The High Power VPS Plans (http://netpr.es/powervpsplans) though do have fast CPUs and fast RAM too, to enable fastest processing throughput on those VPS (that's what they're intended for, "high processing throughput" not so much "storage throughput"). Holler by email if you want more info on what VPS Plan may get what specific h/ware resources.

"What are Cpanel VPS based on"

cPanel's an "unforgiving beast" in terms of resource use (heavy PHP processing), but we try to keep them well fed with high-speed disk throughput, on mid-range CPU and RAM speeds.

          "Do they have RAID storage?"

Yes, all VPS are backed onto RAID Storage Arrays. Some RAID1 or RAID10 for speed, some RAID5/6 for higher redundancy/reliability/more-spindles. Again, email or put it into the Comments field of your Cart to specify what form of RAID you'd like used for your VPS Order.

We're happy to customise the provisioning of your VPS to match your desired underlying h/ware preference if possible.

          Regards,
          Richard.

  • $39.96 after discount for a 4 core CPU, 1GB RAM, 20GB storage and unmetered "High Power VPS #1". Unmetered on 1Mbps port? Otherwise it does seem a bit too cheap.

    • All these Xen VPS have a 100Mbps port.

The Unmetered FUP (Fair Use Policy) is: A Fair Use Policy applies for Top 10% of Network Traffic, which may reduce your maximum sustained network transmission rate to 25Mbps during peak usage periods.

That said, it's very rare that the FUP is needed to be applied and the High Power VPS Plans are designed for high CPU, low network requirement VPS applications.

      Regards,
      Richard.

  • Hi there netpres. Just wondering if this is managed. We currently have a Managed Virtual Server in the US but wish to move to AU for less latency.
    Thanks
    Jason

    • Hi Jason,

No, not Managed VPS by default, but you can add a "VPS Option" for "Managed VPS" when viewing each VPS Plan and before adding it to your Cart.

      Regards,
      Richard.

  • Wow nice rates. Any control panel for reboots/images?

    • There's a few methods (web and ssh based) to control your VPS (start, stop, reboot, access Console, etc).

But no reimage (we used to, but some customers reimaged their VPS "by mistake" (they said) and things got ugly). You can email us for a reimage and it's done quickly (after we confirm the request with you and that you understand all data gets lost etc etc).

We do take weekly backups though of your VPS' Disk, so if you get into strife, you can ask us to restore your VPS' Disk for you too.

      Regards,
      Richard.

      • I guess you shouldn't have given those customers root access either to stop them shooting their own foot.

        • We can provide reimage capabilities if needed, it's just not enabled by default.

While sure, root access can be used to immediately lose all data, it's not the same as "in just a few clicks all your VPS data is gone".

As mentioned though, we do take weekly backups of VPS Disks, so there's more options available than reimage.

We missed a smiley here didn't we? :)

          Regards,
          Richard.

        • We missed a smiley here didn't we? :)

          Yes. My bad there. :)

        • While sure, root access can be used to immediately lose all data, it's not the same as "in just a few clicks all your VPS data is gone".

Yeah, it's "in just a few key presses all your data is gone"
