It was interesting to see the lack of votes on the last Ebay deal. People really don't trust shopback to record the clicks or pay out the correct rate.

    • +8

I've had to follow up a few times with ShopBack due to incorrect payouts, 2/3 times they declined and said some bs, then the other time, they just ghosted me. I'm done with them. I will be using Topcashback tomorrow to match the cashback amount, they're far more reliable & trustworthy in my experience… not sponsored lol

      • +3

how does TCB match work please?

      • +1

I do not have good experience with Topcashback. Ordered boost sim card using Topcashback back in Oct 2024 and I am still yet receiving my cashback.

      • So, they don't have to pay you and ghost you legally.

      • -2

I will be using Topcashback tomorrow to match the cashback amount,

That's a good idea to double dip.

        • only the last click before transaction will count

          • +1

            @mantra: I know.

I'm not saying they both stack on top of each other.

I am saying you can do the below if you are looking to buy more stuff on eBay and TCB can match this SB promo

            • 1 transaction via SB to get 20% CB - cap $25 / up to $137.50
            • 1 transaction via TCB to get 20% CB - cap $25 / up to $137.50 by using their Cashback Guarantee Claim Form(topcashback.com.au). I've done this before.

Effectively replicating and getting around SB limitation by having TCB match this offer.

    • I only got $26 last ebay cashback and it said i was in the top 11%

  • guess who just made an order this morning….

    • +19

Don't worry, it's not like Shopback would actually honour the cashback anyways…

    • If you made the order less than 60 minutes ago, you can instantly cancel it.

      • +2

Not 60 minutes anymore. The T&Cs have changed it that you can request a cancellation before the seller ships your order
        https://www.ebay.com.au/help/buying/buyers-can-cancel-order/…

        • Request yeah, not instant. Seller has to accept it, might not happen in time.

        • +3

I made a mistake on eBay and tried to cancel. This was within 10 minutes. The eBay seller within 5 minutes said item was shipped and not able to cancel order. Messaged and did end up getting cancelled and refunded order. Few messages later though.

          Edit: was few months ago

          • +3

@Mikael: Sellers mark as posted immediately to stop cancellations

            • @justtoreply: Yep that's what i used to do. Already had a prepaid satchel so when item was sold it was allocated the tracking number instantly and posted when i could.

  • Nice..(youtube.com)

  • That reminds me - need to make a claim from the last deal that didnt track

  • +10

Time to buy through TCB with their highest cashback guarantee.

    • +3

      Yaaa
That’s what I’ll be doing too, unless there’s a bank bonus that goes along with this deal lol

    • +3

how does TCB match work please?

      • +2

Buy it as usual, open a ticket when it tracks and include the URL of this page with the anticipated amount. Done it a handful of times and they're all honoured.

        • Did an order through TCB this morning but yet to track, in the event it doesn't track and I have to raise a claim, will they still match/beat for a missing cashback claim?

      • Just note that the westpac bonus won't be honoured by TCB as it is a special deal

  • +6

    Sadly they can't be trusted.

  • -1

how so ? all my cashback tracked and some of them paid out months before the estimation days. They seem pretty good with all the deals on prepared meals like hello fresh, youfoodz…

  • -2

Its weird seeing comments of Shopback not tracking their purchases. I've had 95%+ success getting them tracked and honoured. Also its very easy to see Rejected cashbacks and submit an appeal if needed. TCB also tracks well. I have however had a terrible experience with Cashrewards. Half of my purchases were just rejected seemingly without any explanation. Also Cashrewards app is terrible.

    • +2

I’ve no issues with ShopBack either, but TCB does have the highest cashback guarantee, so it makes this deal at 21% :)

      • +1

Hey BG, I haven't done the TCB price beat and just read: (topcashback.com.au)

A bit confusing but it's 20% cashback + 1% on top of the cashback value, not 21%. E.g. a $100 purchase that tracks at 20% is $20. TCB price beat would be $20.20, and not $21 (see example below in their T&Cs).

What is covered in the guarantee?

For Highest Cashback Guarantee Claims that are approved, members will receive an additional 1% on top of the cashback value. E.g. a 10% rate would increase to 10.1%, or a $50 rate would increase to $50.50.

        • +1

Thanks - always thought it’d 1%, but that example provided it’s more 0.1%

        • +1

I can confirm that TCB matched the 20% cashback, plus an additional 1% of the 20% cashback value is given too to “beat” shopbacks rate. Not much but better than nothing plus I’ve had more success with TCB than ShopBack lately.

It took a whole day for me to see eBay in the list of merchants that I could claim a Highest Cashback Guarantee from after my purchase.

I was worried that TCB would reject the claim since the ShopBack deal ended the night before, however I gave TCB the link to this ozbargain deal and they approved it immediately.

Now it’s in the usual Pending state waiting for eBay to verify my purchase and no refunds etc before it’s confirmed for payout.

All in all an easy process but just that initial 1 day wait had me concerned. Now I know for next time to chill for a day =)

  • $15 cap? 💤💤💤

  • No Shopback Plus day this month?

  • +4

    Cap per member or transaction?

  • -1

Is ebay gift card considered "ebay credit". Terminology…

    • +1

Only purchases made through eBay Australia will earn Cashback. Cashback is valid when gift cards are used as a payment method

Seems to be pretty clear to me

      • Wahoo 3% bonus

        • Where you getting 3% ebay gc?

          • +3

@diviCe: Everyday Rewards app > Everyday Gifting > Your Pick GC

Plus it's better than any other GC seller as you can buy exactly how much you wish to spend and swap the whole amount for a single eBay GC no matter how odd the value. Perfect for stacking the Westpac bonus. Whereas with others they only allow certain fixed denominations regardless of bought or swapped.

  • +1

Is there any limit on the number of transactions for the 20% cashback? I might put a few through around $100 to get the most cash back

    • +6

Generally if they don’t mention that it’s capped per member, it’s capped per transaction

  • Power-bank: branded, reliable & 20000mAh on ebay: any suggestions ? Thanks

  • Why is travel excluded? I just want a new luggage

  • +1

Will this go for 24 hours from midnight tonight?

  • +7

For those of you playing at home:

    1) assume this will NOT track
    2) ensure you screen record the transaction
    3) set a reminder to chase them after tracking period lapses

My cashback from the last deal just got approved.

Unless there's a bank bonus I'll be trying TCB rate match this time

    • Yes - I also found Shopback was much better than Cashrewards.

At least when there is an issue with the tracking as long as we could provide the screenshots showing the transaction done via their App - it should be fine.

  • Time to run a sale on my eBay store then 😉

  • +1

    $25 cap as opposed to $20 + $20 when it's 10% Standard + 10% Bank Bonus…. Hmmmm I might pass on this one!

    • +1

There could be one incoming :)
Time will tell at midnight, as I can see a countdown timer on my Westpac bonus

    • 10% cashback ($20 cap) :)

      • Worth adding. Not sure if anyone else will post.

      • Seems just Westpac and not the related banks unfortunately

      • Can we still pay with gift cards or the whole amount needs to be by Westpac card to get both bonuses?

        • Can’t fully offset with gift cards - it needs to have part payment with Westpac

  • Missed the 10% Westpac. Oh well.

    • You didn't even consider going for the regular 2%?

      • No unfortunately I got my stuff too quick using Afterpay lol

  • Just confirming the cashback won’t stack with the 15% off $300 spend coupon available on eBay atm?

Any chance they’ll add it as an approved coupon?

    • Using codes that aren't listed on the ShopBack eBay page will invalidate the cashback, and it's highly unlikely it will be added!

      • Thank you! Would have been so good!

  • how can you do both ebay gift card and westpac bonus to get both 3% and 10%?

    • +2

partial payment, most with gift card remainder with westpac card

  • +1

how soon is it tracked guys?

    • +2

Mine just tracked in about 10 hours, both westpac and ebay for reference

    • Close to 11 hours now. Still not tracked.

      • both ebay and westpac bonus tracked after 14 hrs just before midnight

  • How many times can you claim this cashback per SB account?

    • +1

Unlimited since this is capped by per purchase

      • +1

        Nice thanks :)

  • -2

    @gotyourback are OFF15 and OFF20 eligibile coupons?

    • Why ping the rep? If it’s not listed on ShopBack, it means it isn’t eligible

      • Who's the rep again? I've got an issue to report…

        • @gotyourback

          • @BargainsGrabber: Cheers, pinged him last night, hope he reads it today. Omg, SB customer service has gone down the drain seriously, they used to be so proactive before the Westpac buyout.

            • @88mph: Can confirm @gotyourback is still on the ball… Fixed my issue asap, whilst customer service kept "escalating" for days.

              • +1

@88mph: That's awesome to hear! 😊 Thank you so much for your kind words! I'm really glad we could get things sorted for you quickly. If you ever need anything else, don’t hesitate to reach out – we’ve got your back! 👍💙

  • +1

Awesome. I bought some engine oil for the car, and a battery powered water pump for spraying the garden with water from the rainwater barrel

I would have got more (like the telescope from last week) but the coupons mean they can't combine. Too bad

  • +1

Thank you OP for posting this. Much appreciated.

  • So what are people's plans if this doesn't track?

I purposefully bought an item that was better with this cashback vs an eBay code. But of course, if cashback fails then it was the wrong choice.

It's a race between cashback tracking on item vs shipping out by seller…

    • +1

I wasn't going to buy but the additional 10% Westpac was too good to pass. My order will probably be shipped before I find out as this seller usually ships quickly. If it doesn't track, will submit a missing cashback claim after 7 days. If no response after 2 weeks, will PM the rep GYB. My last eBay purchase in Nov didn't track, submitted the claim and was paid.

      • Yeah. I think I'll follow. I already had to submit claim for the last ebay westpac deal… But just wanted to know how people mitigate risk here / have faith in SB customer service
