Homeworld is a real-time strategy computer game released on September 28, 1999, developed by Relic Entertainment and published by Sierra Entertainment. It was the first fully three-dimensional real-time strategy (RTS) game. Homeworld was the beginning of a series, followed by Homeworld: Cataclysm (2000) and Homeworld 2 (2003). In 2014 Homeworld: Remastered (Homeworld HD and Homeworld 2 HD remakes) were announced by the new intellectual property (IP) holder, Gearbox Software. The remakes were released on February 25, 2015. An upcoming game, titled Homeworld: Shipbreakers, is currently being developed by Blackbird Interactive.
