Because its 100 dollars cheaper than anywhere else, and forty bones cheaper than when they posted this deal last time.
this would be ideal for my nephew but it doesnt have an optical drive. Anyone has any recommendations for similar price range?
You could try a basic Lenovo starting from 569
While you do get optical DVD built in (which is hardly a neccessity nowadays) and better battery life, you won't be getting the Nvidia discrete graphics — therefore no gaming.
Not a bad price actually.
Discrete GT630m makes this a fairly portable mid-end gaming laptop, although the processor might bottleneck the GPU.
HP warranty… Useful as a chocolate teapot.

No problems with HP fixing a cracked hinge mount on my dm1. Pretty impressive, especially given that they could have easily claimed misuse for that kind of damage.

You need a rather large tea cup in which to hold the pot to enjoy the enhanced flavour.
FYI - the web site say gaming laptop . this is not a gaming laptop unless your only playing minesweeper . You wont be able to play BF3 and Cod
