I was just looking around this website during the lunch time and found this toy. The website claims that the priced is reduced from $167.51, but we know we dont care about the "original" price. So i did a quick search:

Suction cup holder is just a fixed adhesive device in the car,if you use it,you can not use GPS function.

I would like to know what they mean by:
Suction cup holder is just a fixed adhesive device in the car,if you use it,you can not use GPS function.

Does that mean that I can't have the GPS recording operational when it's in the suction cup holder? That would kind of defeat the purpose don't you think?

    • my understanding is that there are two "brackets" / "suction cup holders". The one with a gps module is referred to as a "bracket". the other one is simply called "suction cup holder".

$179 is a little bit too much. maybe the price will drop like those android mini tv things, given some time.

I want one of these devices….Then I see the Mainland Chinese English.

Then I don't want it anymore (due to not being able to understand what I am getting).

  • I have been paranoid after a police fined me crossing yellow line and many idiots on the street driving car. I had to have one. I bought a first cheap one and loved it. And decided to upgrade this one, no regret….
Device get charged from usb or cigarette lighter and feeds GPS module as well. There is a small cable form GPS part which is also windscreen holder that connects to main device.Good lens, wide angle is all good but this camera needs to start up every time unlike the cheap ones automatic start with car engine.
I t was unfortunate I got a wrong lighter charger but they send me another new one without question.

    • thanks for sharing your experience.

Did you buy from these guys?

A good comparison site plus forums for the latest release reviews.

Plus watch out for knock-offs of the originals.

  • I have the Navig8or brand of this tech (In car recording) works an absolute charm :)

Never heard of this brand but IMHO everyone should have one of these in some form, all you need is 1 accident and this could save you lots of time and effort in the ''he said she said' scenario

  • Guys, this thing costs $100…
Those of you out there with insurance will have to pay much more than that in excess if you don't win a claim against someone that hit you.
    It's a no-brainer

I bought a camera years ago, it's paid for itself easily, tipped the scales in an each bear own claim that really wasn't my fault!

Still looking for a car DVR that can record for at least 8 hours while parked without connecting to the car battery.

    • one day you woke up in the morning and found the car is still here, but camera not…..or both gone!

    • Your wish is granted….
      My 720p dash cam uses 8G for 1 hour… so 8x8 = 64g sd card @720p.
You can have them hard wired into your system… don't think it would run your car battery flat?

  • Can any of the incar DVRs allow you to hit a save button to save the last X mins of a recording?
ie, how do you save a video segment if your driving along (not involved in any accident) but want to keep that X minute clip? and keep recording the rest of the journey?

    • We have a couple of chinese K6000 cameras from AliExpress at around $30ish delivered each. They work very well.
GLO>> The ones we got have an easy accessible button that will save the current file and lock it so it will not get overwritten.
Mine is set to create 3 minute files. When the card is full it deletes the oldest file to write the new one.
The mount is excellent.. (dont wipe the suction cup when you remove the plastic film).
It does audio but I disable it as I don't want people to hear how I curse other drivers :-)
Go to youtube folks if you want to see how good different models of dashcams are.
LED lights on these things do nothing, just a gimmick.
Always use a high speed card .. CL10 at least, usually micro sd but check with the model you buy.
      Cheers.

  • This sounds pretty cheap but what's the video quality like? Is it good enough to see number plate clearly in daylight and night time?

    • Go to youtube to see samples of dashcams.
