  • Yay! I've been wondering when this would come up.

I thought it used to be half price redemptions….. Do they do this and then have half price redemptions later?

And surprise surprise, it ends the day before Iron Man 3 comes out ;)

    • Another month later is Star Trek Into Darkness as well. This and Iron Man 3 will be the good action movies this year.

      • If you purchase advance tickets for IM3 would you not get double the points as you purchased the tickets as per the requirements before the deadline?

  • -8

Il be skipping iron man 3 , felt like crap after 1st, 2nd, avengers, cap america, transformers 2, 3 etc. Too cheap, cheese and politically pro western shallow in every possible way. Better go watch Oz,was a funny and good movie overall :)

This movie is lost of fun. Highly recommended .

  • Oz is probably the best movie out now. Which amazes me quite frankly. I mean - Zambezia (The low budget bird movie starring Leonard Nemoy), The Host (Another classic from that Twilight author) and the Croods. Die hard frankly came out too late. Sure, it has Varro from Spartacus who shaved his hair to match his father.

What can I say about Jack the Giant Slayer? There was one part I loved so much I recommend seeing it.

As for G.I. Joe Retaliation - there is Ninja battles on the sides of mountains. What the ending entailed really annoyed me. The movie has slightly less BS than Wanted. In fact quite a few parallels can be made between the movies.

tbh I don't see anything worth watching until Oblivion on April 11th… but I'm not holding my breath for that either.

    • I found Wanted was ridiculous but did not attempt to be serious (also had quite decent acting)
I found GI Joe (the first movie) was ridiculous but tried to be serious (also had horrendous acting - I'm looking at you Channing "Wooden Board" Tatum).
I thoroughly enjoyed Wanted, but I thought GI Joe was trash.

I also enjoyed A Good Day to Die Hard. Another ridiculous action movie but not to be taken seriously. My only criticism is that the Die Hard movies seem to be losing their identity with each successive movie.

Looks like my Hoyts vouchers have to wait longer.

    • The Host was rewritten, and directed by the same guy who did Gattaca.

      • Just saw it, its essentially a porn movie with no sex. Must be a "one for them" movie
        Definitely avoid.

  • Die Hard and GI Joe were great as mindless action movies.
The Croods was excellent if you're into that kinda movie. Oz was also really good.
Jack the giant slayer was pretty poor.
Just got back from watching The Host, which was just okay, quite slow paced for most of the movie.

Oh, and confirmed to double VIP points.
(Just got 250 points for a standard session)

Loyal VIP cinebuzz member here,, 500 vip points 3years till expires. now just waiting for event to have there VIP tier, Browne, silver and gold, Gold would earn tripple of bronze, I still have 10000 cine buzz points and not touching those till half points are out.
Think I watch from 2-3movies a week, depending if they are released faster than I can get there lol.

    • Are they going to have a tiered VIP plan?

      • I wish!

    • 10,000?! Damnnn, I'm a VIP too now. Have 2175 Points banked. Saving for Iron Man 3 Gold Class. Going to book it before the Offer Finish's, Booked Identity Thief tonight and I got a whopping 375 Points for One Movie! Amazing! Going to Book Oblivion as well when they release the Tickets for it.

  • If you book 2 tickets on the site does it give you points for both tickets or just the 1 as I have found this a problem in the past where it only give you points for 1 of the tickets booked?

    • +1

Multiple tickets, same session, one card, one lot of points.
I've had plenty of instances of missing points where two tickets were purchased with two card numbers - support is generally very helpful with this and credits missing points without any hassle.

      • Thanks just contacted support for my missing points.

      • Yup they're efficient if you contact them about Missing Points. As Mentioned we booked two films in the same transaction where we'd add my partners Card as well but her points wouldn't get credited. From now on we book separately and just choose to be seated next to each other, Both get Points :)

  • I still can't believe they charge $22.50 (Vmax) for a movie session.

  • You may only recieve points up to 4 movies per day, but has to be different movies, if you wish to recieve the points eg the croods 4 tickets within the same day, it must be with another cinebuzz card.

I have had missing points in the past, support did apply them onto my account, but at some point, never got a reply… Iit was the time when the iPhone app came out, and adding your member number then buying the tickets just did not give me my points, i remained using the nain webpage because of this. I emailed them several times, 3/7 they fixed it… Box office can't do anything as well, support in my opinion is pretty poor.

Another thing, there new website facelift, looks horrible, hard to navigate! Who agrees?

    • I agree ref. new site. Hate the layout, design, and navigation.

    • +1

I don't mind the new site but if you want the old one there are a few links to it, this being one of them

      • Thanks. That's better.

    • You can't claim points for multiple tickets of the same session, even with separate bookings.
You can claim the same movie at a different time on the same day, though.

(on the one card that is)

      • What a shame as your purchasing more than 1 ticket. Also do you know when the GC $25 tickets will be back at Marion as most the promo codes don't work.

        • really?

        • Event just got back to me and confirmed this. So no extra points. Guess I need to open a second Cinebuzz account to obtain the extra points I have been missing out on all this time :(

  • When u redeem points, points also are applied as normal purchase.
