I wouldn't buy those durability reviews, in my experience. Been happily using the similar but older px "200" for ~a decade, and they might have only improved from hundreds hours of play time, certainly living up to sennheiser's title.
They simply deliver two channels of tightly accurate sound not matched below the one hundred dollars ime; & there I'd count myself in the 93-odd other pc without any gripe with such 'phones.
Probably worth a +40 dollars up over the 100s if you seek something closer in clarity to the HD 25, the ($80) 200s would be my pick, any German engineered headphone perform very well though.
I own a pair of the PX-100s and they are awesome and haven't had any issues with the speakers. The plastic covering over the head padding has started to wear but they are around 4-5 years old now and it hasn't stopped their function. Would definitely purchase for $45 had I already not had a pair.
I had a pair of PX-100 headphones for years, and they were great. Lasted fine, despite some rough treatment, although I did go through a few pairs of foam ear pads over the years. I eventually lost them, and bought these PX-100 II headphones a couple of years ago to replace them (couldn't get the originals any more). TBH, I preferred the balance in the originals; the IIs are a little heavier in the bass, and lighter in the midrange. But they're still a great pair of headphones, and I wouldn't worry about build quality; if anything, these are better-built than the originals. Just keep them in their pouch (or get something a little more substantial like I did; I found the perfect little vinyl purse at Daiso) and don't step on them.
looks good but the 1-star reviews are quite off-putting tbh.
