  • How do the MagLites compare to other LED flashlights around the same price ($30-40)?

    • Not the best you can buy as they once were from all reports.

  • +1

Provided you don't pay Australian prices of $100, then for $30-$40, i think it has it's benefits compared to other led torches

Pro is that it is focusable, the benefit of this feature may be useless to some, but not many focusable led lights around. The selectable modes, people might find handy and easy to use compare to some other led lights, which require to select through all the modes to get to what you want.

Cons, I think it is the 3xAAA configuration, personally think the 1 x AA, or 2 x AA set up is much better, given that AAA’s don’t hold much juice in them. The regulation is not as good as some other led lights, despite it producing 173 lumens, it drops to 50% after 12 minutes of continuous runtime
