      • +1

Mate it comes along in the SIMCARD pack

        • Cheers Anuj :)

        • Where's the voucher code in the pack?

    • does the Voucher code come with the sim card?

Edit: thanks for the answer Anuj.

  • Got my 2 delivered March 13. Brilliant internet connection compared ro the Optus resellers Ive been using- amaysim and woolies. Both had dropout periods in excess of 3-4 hours in the evenings. Boost have not dropped out once. Not a super fast connection but steadfast!

    • +1

That's right, Also Kogan is throttled to 7.2 Mbps HSDPA access and Boost is giving unthrottled access to Telstra's 42 Mbps HSDPA network

The sign up form is pre-populated with details of this guy:

    Axxxx Axxxxx 1 Aug 19xx

    anyone else getting that?

Edit 1: Not sure if OP details, but as I got further in it has address and everything… Doesn't seem safe

Edit 2: Tried again and got some other randoms details. this form seems bugged, and may be exposing your details to everyone.

    • maybe er xx the guys birthdate

      • yeah. I submitted a report to mods to take it out. I tried to edit it, but I don't seem to be able to any more. I typed it in at first as it I looked like dummy data as it was all grayed out. But now it seems like it's real.

        • Yep its the way OZB is set up can't edit once someone (me) replies…i think that's right anyway
i just tried to replicate what you did but fields were blank ?

    • might be example entries. otherwise it is a huge privacy breach

i get Mod: Removed private details

edit: when i clear the cookies for the site it disappears

      • I got Mod: Removed private information too and then another person. Now it seems that have fixed the session gap that allowed it, as the link doesn't work for me any more.

edit: Removed my neg as they seem to have fixed it, other customer details are no longer showing when I use the link.

  • do they have any prepaid plans?

    • its all prepaid

so UNLTD is just a way to trick people into thinking it is unlimited without them getting bent over for misuse of the word unlimited?

now this is on the Telstra network, I see another kogan-like fiasco

    • As per TELSTRA FairPlay Policy Excessive use is : -

using more than 2500 minutes each month , more than 100 SMS text messages each day , MMS sent to more than 50 people each day

      • -1

        that wasn't very obvious.

all that is under the 'value' column in the advertising on the website and in the critical information summary is:

        UNLTD
        Talk, Text
        SMS & MMS
        to standard
        National numbers
        + MessageBank
        retrieval &
        1300/1800 numbers

that gives the impression that it is unlimited. it is extremely misleading. nowhere in the critical information summary does it mention anything about a fair use policy.

        • Matt,
on the website Just below the plan details it says:-
"For personal use only and subject to Telstra Fair Go™ Policy on unreasonable use"

        • still, the critical information summary http://www.boost.com.au/frontend/CIS.pdf makes no mention of any acceptable usage policies. i think that is a very important omission. kogan are also under fire for exactly the same thing.

      • Outlaws by not even acceding to the law of the land^^.

    • (3000 / 0.75MB) / (60m * 24h * 30d)
      0.09259259259 is greater than
      2500m / (60m * 24h * 30d)
      0.05787037037 <—
And the _ data (for instance a VoIP conn.) is more U"TD than this rot impression.

      NB "0.05787037037" = %5pc of a 30d mo; that's 41 hrs, but not = 720 h.

      business personal u$e my butt.

  • The wording states ' Limited Edition Golden Sim'. Where does the 'unlimited' come into it?

  • +2

I am still seeing someone else's details. I wonder if someone else could see mine. Privacy breach!

  • As per TELSTRA FairPlay Policy Excessive use is : -

using more than 2500 minutes each month , more than 100 SMS text messages each day , MMS sent to more than 50 people each day

  • Can i get the sim, and headphone by loading $10 and then not load anymore?

    • Apparently the headphones aren't that great. They're probably not worth your $10.

      • @ GreenGuava
Great thats Christmas- Kris_Kringle sorted then…

  • when go to fill in the form there is details of someone named wes already entered and it doesnt look like a sample. is anyone else getting that?

Edit - as above can see i'm not the only one.

Bit scared to enter my details now

  • How to redeemed the Beats by Dre knock offs

    http://www.boost.com.au/frontend/headphoneredemption.aspx

Wonders if the sound quality is the same?

    • Wouldn't be difficult. Beats are rubbish.

  • +1

Apparently, the free headphone is the Sound Surgeon AO Thumps Headset. RRP $49 but can be had for $14.95 @ mobileciti…meh

  • it asks you to enter your mobile number, do you have to port one or can you take a new number? Recently moved and vodafone reception SUCKS at the new place. Want to try out telstra but contract isnt up for a few months so this would be a good opportunity.

    • Porting not mandatory but you will be asked-you do have to phone boost to register.

  • do you just register for any $2 sim to be eligible for this? Or is there a specific sim we need to register for to attain golden SIM status?

edit: my bad, i found the link -

  • From the FAQ (http://www.boost.com.au/frontend/faq.aspx):

Q: When will my Boost Mobile Golden SIM arrive?
A: We expect the vast majority of Golden Sims to be delivered by 5:00pm Thursday 14th March.

Q: Why can I no longer register for a Boost Mobile Golden SIM?
A: The Golden SIM pre-registration was a limited online offer. Now we have launched on the Telstra 3G Mobile Network, you can purchase SIM Packs and handsets through our online store or from selected retailers.

So unless the offer has been extended, don't get upset when you don't get your golden SIM by registering after the limited offer official end date (I assume a date prior to 14/March). Suggestion: don't bother trying unless a Boost Mobile rep indicates the offer has been extended.

    • +2

i rang up about the privacy breach. the rep told me you cant order them online anymore that you have to do it over the phone and he was prepared to do it for me over the phone. and as sterotypical o/s call centres go: he couldnt understand what i was talking about when i told him that the online form was showing other customers details.

      • +1

Thanks for letting us know about the privacy breach.

Got my gold SIM but no voucher or any mention of headphones or free recharge. Will have a closer look tonight.

    • Yep mine just came by Star track too

Unfortunately just a [micro]sim- no voucher came in the water resist pouch tho.

      • Yep I'm exactly the same. Startrack drop off. Sim card in a pouch. No voucher (which is required to redeem headphones http://www.boost.com.au/gold ). And no mention of headphone promotion

  • same here

    • +1 only simpack and no voucher, came by star track 2

  • Maybe someone could ring in to Boost and ask them? I cant call at the moment.

  • +2

I feel ripped off, the sim isn't actually gold (in colour). The entire plastic around the sim is gold, packaging is gold, the sim card itself is white

  • Yeh got mine its wank. No recharge voucher. Got 2 before only activated the first sim then recharged the same no. twice

  • So does this come with any credit like it describes in the OP?

    • you're supposed too, I assume, but so far nobody has received the voucher which is required for the credit and the headphones

  • +1

Ok just called them up in regards to the voucher and headphones. Apparently that gold plastic card which holds the sim card is also supposed to have a scratch panel on the back which is the voucher code for the recharge (which mine did not have). However, I was also informed that voucher/sim card is only available via "street teams", their guys out on the street spruking the promotion. I informed them of the web page, that I ordered the sim through that web page, and that the web page mentions the headphones. They had a look and agreed that was the case and the webpage does not mention that the voucher must come from the street team. So for the time being they have credited me with the $10 5 day credit, and are investigating the deal with the webpage and the headphones. I am to expect a phone call today in regards to the headphone offer.

I suggest others do the same, and when I know more about the headphones I will follow up here

    • Thanks! I followed up too and they manually added the Voucher.

      • Why no are you guys calling up to ?

        • Only number that I can seem to find, which is customer service: 1258881. Must call from a Boost Sim
