  • Does anyone know if this sort of speaker is any better than, say, the speakers built into a laptop?

  • +2

It is actually , i got one and this one was louder and crisper .

  • can you stick in a SD card to play MP3s? or do you need a iDevice? (photo is confusing)

I'm sure that you need a device. Else it would be an mp3 player and not a speaker. I expect that the card slot is allowing you to use this speaker to also interface a memory card to your laptop/other device via the USB charging cable.

      • Ah yes that males sense…

Now can someone take the plunge and buy it already so we can all know exactly what it does and how well it does it… XD

        • Seriously? It's a speaker. What you expect to do?

    • Actually you can probably play straight from the ad card. Saw a similar device in Singapore that could do this and of you look close on the picture you can see the next track icon next to the switch on the bottom right.

  • There sure is alot of speculation over a $3 item…

Hi this plays from pc/all mobile phones with 3.6 jack . no sd card slot . wish it had . would have been awesome

  • Bought one. What an amazing little speaker! Plays mp3s off an SD card. Very basic controls, no repeat/resume but can't go wrong for $3. The 2 corners of the SD card stick out slightly when inserted but otherwise sits relatively flush with the unit.

  • Found plenty of these at the West Gosford store not marked down, but still scanned for $3.
