Hey all. Was in David Jones Parra today and was walking around the gaming section. Saw that they had a 4gig Xbox with Kinect marked up at $300.
Being the bargain hunter I am, I inquired at the desk about the price and was told that David Jones will not be selling any gaming items anymore and everything is clearance.
Asking to have everything scanned that I wanted I managed to bag myself
Xbox 4gig with Kinect & 1 game $150.
Official play and charge kit $10.
Official 250 gig hard drive $40.
Official wired headset $3.
In Para I was aware they had one more Xbox in stock (it was the Rugby 2011 bundle). We well as another wired headset, the wireless steering wheel (the one that looks like a letter U)
Rock Band, with all the instruments.
I don't know what they had out back, but they also had assorted PS3 stuff like a play TV and a controller that I could see behind the glass security stuff.
I know I should have asked about more stock, but I was so happy about the deal I got, I paid up and left.
Anyway, as these prices came up when the staff were entering the barcode numbers I'm guessing this clearance is nationwide (although I could be wrong) so if your passing a DJs go check out the gaming section and ask for items to be scanned, you'll probably get a bargain.
All the games were reduced too, to $15 Xbox PS3 and Wii. They also had the old school Xbox 360 front plastic cover things that you used to be able to replace at $5. Non of the games were "recent" games and I didn't see anything that was a bargain.
I will say the Xbox points aren't reduced in this clearance. I had one 1500 point card scanned at $25.
Anyway, hope someone else gets a bargain. Looking at para and the very old stock that's hanging around you might even get an old fat Xbox. Lol.
I looked at Wollongong David Jones 2 days ago and they had all the games still on "clearance" but most are discounted to around $30 and are very old (like Assassin's Creed 2 down from $109.95 to $29.95!!..). There wasn't a single one i saw that couldn't be found cheaper at JB or even EB.
