  • Is this deal available in any Woolworths in Sydney? It would be handy for the camping!!

    • Should be nation-wide. They're apart of a promo for a two-burner camp stove.

  • Does anyone know what's the good way to dispose the empty can? In recycle bin? Thank you

    • +1

      Fire.

      • lol, 7 upvotes and 7 downvotes on this commment :)

    • +2

Go outside and empty the can by pressing the head down on a brick or concrete until the hissing stops. after it's empty it is safe to just add to the regular domestic recycle bin.

    • I sell Butane and Butane accessories.

I don't sell Butane nor butane accessories

Haha I also highly recommend these. Extremely hot flames.

Saw someone using as a weedkiller (good if allergic to sprays..maybe)

        • I have a 'wand' version of the same thing, which is specifically designed for just that purpose. It sure saves the back.

Cheers, great idea, just bought one. Got heaps of can left over from camping and this is another way to use them.

  • That's very cheap. I use it for the portable desktop stoves for hotpots, and they're generally 4 for $6.

can anyone advise, what is the shelf life of these 12 cans? I don't mean what's printed on the label (if anything).

I've got 8 cans downstairs that I bought from anaconda….7 yrs ago now?

Unless they've gone rusty they'll be fine. But in your situation I'd definitely be asking myself, "Although it's a bargain, do I really need it?"

    • Wot he sed

Cans of butane should be pretty much indefinite unless the can is damaged.

this should go well with the Coles buy a gasmate cooker and get 4 cartridges free in this weeks catalogue ($20 all up)

Just check with my local store in St Ives. They are still $12 each!!! so this special is not nation wide

    • My local in tweed City is also at $12 each but also sold out.

Any ideas if these canisters will fit an MSR Pocket Rocket?

    • dunno if it'd fit but boy you'd have a balancing act on your hands if it did.

      • Ha ha. Sometimes the tall/thin canisters will fit on sideways.

But yeah I'll probably stick to the cans that fit in my mug/pot combo.

  • +1

    none in bankstown woolworths

I spotted one of these stashed in some obscure spot at Kmart a couple of years ago (had never seen them on display in the camping.sporting section) marked with a clearance sticker at $35. It works very well, and runs for about 6 hours on a single can. I'm not sure whether they'd be suitable for using indoors though … you'd have to check on that.

    • That is a bargain Geewhiz…and 6 hours running on 1 can :)

      • +1

Well they say they use ~100g per hour and the cans are 220g.
6 hours seems a bit hopeful.

BTW Did anyone find this price at any other Safewqay/Woolies at all?

    • I used one inside when the power is out :p

      • Make sure you have some ventilation or you'll die of Carbon Monoxide poisoning.

  • cant find any store selling these for $5.99 in Sydney

    • $12 at Top Ryde. Shame the pic isn't a little bit clearer so we can read the dates on the bottom of the ticket.
Maybe they mis-ordered and they're trying to get rid of them at the local store level…

  • +1

the catalogue just came and it says $12 in there.

  • +2

well…People in Victoria always get things cheaper than Sydney

  • +1

    Just that store.

    Southland also $12. Still, $1 a can isn't bad…

  • Eastland Victoria $12 for 12.

  • Hey liquid12 or anyone thats been there recently:

Are these still available for that price?
Its the supermarket inside Westfield Doncaster, right?

  • If anyone has any Woolies with clearance bins go check out the clearance bins I was able to grab 36 cans at 45c each. they were all separate (I think either employees dropped boxes or customers knocked over boxes). oddly though 32 cans were priced at 50c each, but 4 were priced at 45c so was able to to get them all priced at 45c,

  • +1

Southland now has stock for $6

    edit: not damaged. in box
