  • Wow thats seriously cheap!

  • Can anyone who has this TV advise how it handles fast paced sports like AFL? I keep reading that 200hz is required for AFL to prevent motion blur..

    • +14

how did people watch AFL before 200hz. first world problems. (sorry my comment was not helpful at all)

he had a valid question. there's no need to be snarky.

        • -1

          1st post please be gentle

        • Manufacturer Specs…. 200Hz Clear Motion Rate

    • +2

Required? No I don't think so.

  • +35

To get the best experience when watching AFL is to not watch it all.

    • LOL n1

    • +2

If you have a PVR you can watch the ads and skip through the game.

    • was it coz I said 'thigh' or 'horse' or 'steroid'? :)

  • Is the 60" the same spec just bigger? I have the older 46" series 6 I have no complain so far.

  • I saw in a previous deal (not so long ago) that bing lee delivers free nation-wide? So no need for SA link I think, I could be wrong..

    • yeh they do. but if you live in SA you can pickup and save $12.50 as it's cheaper than Bing Lee

  • i've watched AFL before on my several year old 100Hz UA46C6900 and survived

  • I've got the 60 inch version and so far with fast pace action haven't seen any problems. Only complaints I have are, I wish the stand could swivel and high def tv doesn't look great but that probably because it's big its easier to see when you don't have something high quality like blu ray. Blu rays/games etc look amazing though. I'd definitely buy this again.

  • Specs say no wired LAN connection, seems strange?

  • Hey edwinlin88, I'd be interested in joining group buy since i need to buy new TV over the next month (im in Sydney). This one looks pretty good without all the additional added features and sub-$800! I just need a decent one with good picture quality from a reliable brand.
was also looking at the Panasonic - TH-L47WT50A - 47" Full-HD 3D LED LCD TV. does anyone have this model and can comment on use/performance.
    thanks

  • Hey edwinlin88, put me down for group buy too. $700 delivered would be sweet!

  • +1

yessssssss OK I will be buying in late April. Hoping the price to drop another $100 by then. I'll PM you guys then to see if you're still interested.

    • +1

How do you guys organise a group buy?

  • Hi Edwinlin88, could you arrange if i'm in Perth?

    • probably not coz was gonna go to a local shop and pickup. but will PM you if can do a deal with delivery to different places

  • The Panasonic - TH-L47WT50A - 47" Full-HD 3D LED LCD TV is a beast, really good, once you put it in theatre mode and play with settings slightly, in my opinion its the best quality lcd/led tv.
It cant read mkv files properly through the usb, but image quality is second to none.

  • edwinlin88 group buy + 1

    • vchoy please activate private messages so we can arrange group buy

  • hey edwinlin88, that price from BingLee, is it part of the 4 day Samsung TV sale? will it still be that price if your going to buy it in late April?

newwizard, how long you think the price of the Panasonic will drop to $1k? the cheapest i could find was $1,300. The reviews are good for this TV.

    • not sure but someone should call up and ask. but surely if they can do the price now, the can do it in a month's time when the TV is even older and we're buying multiple.

  • This (the 6000 model) does not have many features other series 6 TVs have

    • ye like what

      • +1

For one thing it is not a Smart TV or 3D TV like others in the series. No WiFi or ethernet ports. The clearmotion rate is 200Hz vs 400Hz or better in others. It has just one USB. It is not PVR ready. Externally, the stand is different to others in the series.
I am not saying these features are useful or otherwise. Just that the 6000 model seems to be very different to the other 6 series models.

I have a Samsung Home Theatre sound system, which has all those bells and whistles, i.e. extra ports, smart tv, etc. When I put this TV UA50EH6000 with a home theatre its the perfect choice (and I'm planning on buying this TV this week so am looking for best price). Only thing it misses on is 3D, but I wear specs and those 3D glass annoy me.
Bing Lee doesn't offer that price anymore. Exeltek Warehouse in Melbourne has it on special at $795 + delivery.

        • omg you're right! it's not on sale anymore… noooooooo!!!!!

  • I might need to buy a new TV next month too. Let me know if you're going ahead with the group buy.

    • ok

      • Hey edwinlin88, there's another post for LG 42LM6700 42" Full HD 3D Smart LED LCD $729 with Free Ship at Bing Lee
Smaller screen but better specs. Are you still thinking about Group buy?

        • yeh definitely going to be buying a TV late April. I will PM all the people who were interested in April to see if they're still keen (including you).
