$20 Voucher for Your First Order with Aussie Farmers Direct

1010
NICEWORK

$20 voucher code for new customers from their new "Boogers or Broccolis' Facebook App Quiz @ http://www.facebook.com/AussieFarmersDirect/app_316025495186… but seems to be a generic code that can be used multiple times.

Can be redeemed from their website http://bit.ly/12vzYZr and by clicking "Claim Voucher" up the top right hand corner and typing in the coupon code: NICEWORK.

They do have limited delivery areas but hopefully it comes in handy for those who are looking to try out their products.

UPDATE: For those having issues with the site, or want to know about service areas, try calling them on 1300 645 562 and quote them the Facebook promotion and code!

UPDATE 2: Seems as though different codes are given based on how you submit the quiz. Codes GREATWORK & WELLDONE also works as well (same voucher amount for $20).

UPDATE 3: From the rep:
As per our terms and conditions, 'New Customer' promotion codes cannot be used in conjuction with any other offer, including other codes. Our system will automatically update any customer accounts to remove duplicate codes and therefore any additional credits.

UPDATE 4: It seems as though only the original NICEWORK code now works.

update5: code still valid - changed to arbitrary expiry date

It's a shame these guys have such a shocking website as I have used the a couple of times and had a pretty good experience.

  • where is the on off credit option??

  • +4

Battling this website to death over the past half an hour is so, so much easier than simply driving down to the local Coles/Safeway/Butcher/Deli

  • Placed my first order. Hopefully my credit card details are stored properly…

    • Great to hear IMBI3, welcome to the service and we hope you enjoy your first delivery. If you have any questions please don't hesitate to drop us a line on 1300 645 562 or by chatting with us on Facebook: www.facebook.com/AussieFarmersDirect

I have used these guys before, dairy gets delivered in the middle of the night and fruit during the day. Whilst it was convenient getting milk delivered, they drove up to my front door and if their truck didn't wake the house up the neighbourhood dogs that were disturbed did. Also, even though they left goods in a cooler bag, most of the time I got up and collected the bag at the time as it is still pretty hot in qld to be leaving milk out for hours. Good deal and I do like the concept though, just my experience.

    • +1

Yeah, we had a similar experience. I just happened to be up late one night and heard them delivering the milk products at midnight. 7 hrs loosely stored in a light cooler bag in Qld heat, or getting up in the middle of the night to get my milk and yoghurt, is not acceptable to me. So we cancelled our order as that was one of the major benefits to us - being able to order those few little things that we run out of mid-week.

  • -3

    Whoops!
Unfortunately we haven't reached your neighbourhood yet.

    GHEY!

    • +2

Thanks for your interest eXtremist and sorry we don't have a milko delivering in your area yet.
Aussie Farmers Direct is a franchise business, so we rely on new franchise owners to purchase an area in order to allow us to expand our delivery network.
If you know of anyone who maybe interested in an Franchise Opportunity in your area then we'd love to hear from you and hopefully you can start enjoying 100% Australian produce home delivered very soon: www.AussieFarmersFranchising.com.au

      • +1

Probably more about the fact you have to provide information to only be found to not be in a servable area. Any chance of changing that to streetname/postcode/surburb before you have to provide names and other personal info.

  • +1

crap ass website.entered work address and it let me register, thought I'd change it and see if they'd deliver to my home address.(same street but one suburb over) NO GO. tells me I'm in an unserviceable area, logs me out, tells me my account is now inactive due to residing in an unserviceable area and then doesn't let me re register. Great promo, good example of poor systems that loose companies the new business they were looking for in the first place.

  • Free delivery is awesome, it's based on # of items not value, great! Delivery costs is the main reason puts me off online grocery shopping. And ordered another $20 on top of the voucher value…

    • Thanks for the feedback AllWins and welcome to the service!
We hope you enjoy your first delivery, and look forward to hearing further feedback on the 100% Australian produce you've ordered.
It's great to hear you're pleased with the free delivery we offer too, as it's often an cost most people forget to consider when shopping online, so we're proud to be one of the very few online grocery retailers who offer free home delivery, which can save you up to $20!

  • ok finally modified my order to be $20.

was a challenge to get the changes to stick though.

    • How did you do it? I tried to change my order with different items and it ended up adding them to the list and bringing my total up. I managed to work around that by setting the quantity of the items I do not want to 0.

      • yeah i ended up making the qty 0.

        as deleting them wouldnt save.

  • +4

They display your password in your welcome email… that's just unnecessary. :-/

  • The new sign up $10 credit code SPINACH can only be used once per household in their terms and conditions. Does anyone know if it applies to the $20 code too?
    TIA

    • +2

Hi Moolah, thanks for the question and in response, you're not able to use any of our promo codes in conjunction with any other offer, so the system will automatically remove this from your account.
Don't forget, if you're unsure of anything you can always chat with us on Facebook (www.facebook.com/AussieFarmersDirect), or give our friendly contact centre a quick call: 1300 645 562

      • I'm glad you cleared that up. Proceeding to modify my order now. + for awesome support.
Edit: I have both the $10 new customer credit and $20 facebook credit. Which will be applied to the first purchase ? I am assuming the one with the largest value would.

  • +2

The website could really use some work…

My confirm button wouldn't work even after trying a different browser.

I randomly get an email saying my order was confirmed however it doesn't mention anything about my $20 credit….

Just realised I've placed two orders… one for a a weekly package and the other for a one off… sigh have to call you guys now.

    • I had the same problem

  • +2

About time we see businesses like these. Hate dealing with woolies or coles - or any middleman adding extra costs to the products.

    • Some of the products are actually more expensive than the supermarkets. That is probably because they have to pay the franchisor. Having said that, I have placed my first order

    • So where are the big savings if there is no middle man?

      • Not sure. Keep praying.

  • I found this didnt work. It charged me the full amout. I entered the promo code but kept getting errors. Sent them an email to hopefully have it fixed but just unsure what I did wrong???

    • Pay attention that only one code works.
I had the same problem. Checked that I have $20 credit, applied the code which says successfully added, placed the order, supplied cc info, confirmed. I got email from them with an invoice with normal price without deducting $20. I made query as well by email.
I don't think I did anything wrong, but their website and the system need improving. It puts me off as a new customer.

  • The codes aren't working anymore. Looks like they've been disabled - when I try to click Claim Voucher and type it in, it's not being accepted. :(

Edit: NICEWORK is the only code that works.

  • Not available in my metro Adelaide SA location, lols.

Judging by the "SA Couples Box" contents, I'd get a better bang for buck at the local markets.

Still, can't beat a $20 "try the service" though. Oh well.

  • +2

I would be happy to pay a bit more for quality and freshness + low/no delivery charges. Yes cheaper at my local Woolies, but hate their deceptive labelling tactics and constant price fluctuations. I have placed my order so will see. Agree the website is a nightmare.

  • +3

    Just my 2 cents….

I've used AussieFarmers for a while, it's nice to have the milk/bread/things delivered outside your door before 6am, it stays pretty cool at that time anyway, they also gave me a cool bag to leave outside, which the guy places your things into. The convenience is the best thing early in the morning, it saves the trip to the local store, the rush and the drive home. The early morning guy does not ring the bell of course.

The midweek fruit delivery is a bit less convenient for me, a cardboard box is left outside until I get home, but the things in there are not required to be refrigerated and the produce is always great condition. The fruits are much more fresh than coles/woolies, they seem to hand pick the best ones for me, the prices are around the same however. They also supply small veggies, but then give some extra (sometimes I get 4 little capsicums instead of 2 normal ones). I've opted for fortnightly delivery as I don't get through all the things each week as I'm a single person.

I think moving forward more and more people will get their food delivered, then at that point branding and loyalty becomes less important as it's simple to change supplier. I'm also considering selling my car now that I don't need it so much.

  • Where are you able to see that you have credit?

    • In your march invoice.

  • just received a call from you guys asking if i needed help to complete my order and use my $20 credit. Great service

    • +2

They certainly appear to provide better service than Coles/Woolworths who seem to have massive queues and impersonal self scanning aisles whenever I visit.

They seriously need to fix their website as I think it's inhibiting them from getting even more customers.

  • Hi AF, how do you check if the order have been placed successfully? I just signed up with the $20 credit offer and successfully validated the promo code, chose 3 items and clicked on the "Confirm" button, next screen is the order has been placed but it didnt show the reduced charge..I haven't received any email confirmation nor I can find a place on your website to check placed order? I looked at the March statement, it does not show this order…my credit card has not been charged yet.
Looking forward to hearing from you.

    • Hi there Prettyparrot, welcome aboard! To check your order has been saved successfully. Click the 'Summary' button- it's located below the calendar. This should show any orders placed for delivery within the next fortnight. If you have any trouble with this, just give us a buzz on 1300 645 562 and we'll be happy to double check for you.

  • I ordered online and then confirmed the -$20 over the phone, the customer service rep was fantastic, definitely recommend trying them out!

  • +2

DEFINITELY NOT HAPPY! The price you agreed to buy at is not necessarily what you pay!
Prices changed after agreed to purchase order based on quoted prices.
How many more price changes before they deliver??
(first available delivery slot is Wednesday)

    Changes to Pricing: (T&C p10)
From time to time we may need to alter the price of the products you have ordered.
This may result in the prices of the individual products being slightly different from the notified
price when you placed your standing order. There may be slight increases or decreases in price.
Any changes will be evident by comparing your order confirmation with your monthly tax invoice.

Placed my order of my choice of 10 fruit & vegies. (Free delivery if $25 or more). Gave my credit card details. My order came to $25.01. This was confirmed in an email yesterday 23:26. By today 17:13, 8 of the 10 prices had changed (4 up by up to 81%, and 3 down by 5-17%) resulting in a 9% increase in total price in less than 1 day! Increases in price of 50% or 81% a day are NOT "slight increases"!

    Cucumbers - Lebanese (ea) $0.76 was $0.42 (up 81%!)
Fresh Figs (punnet) $5.98 was $3.99 (up 50%!)
    Potatoes - Brushed (2.5kg) $5.79 was $4.99 (up 16%)
    Broccoli (ea) $1.79 was $1.69 (up 6%)
Lettuce - Salad Mix (bag) $2.49 was $2.99 (down 17%)
Lettuce Baby Spinach Leaves (bag) $2.60 was $2.99 (down 13%)
    Peaches - Clingstone (ea) $0.75 (x2) was $1.58 (down 5%)
    Onions - Red (ea) $0.50
    Carrots - Pre Pack (1kg) $1.88
    Silverbeet (bunch) $3.98
Delivery: FREE Total (inc. GST): $27.27 was $25.01 (up 9%!)

    • Thanks for the info and detective work from this, <b>bruce</b>

    • +2

can confirm my order has increased in price by 13%.

      • +1

        Ouch!

    • +1

I wonder how many read the T&C before ordering?
"Changes to Pricing" is tucked away on page 10!
(You agreed to that at sign up.)
I consider the failure to make that condition more prominent could be interpretted as deceptive conduct. Will follow that up.

Never had the experience before of agreeing to a purchase at a quoted price & then found the price will change before delivery.

FAIL! I'm going back to shopping with the big boys & my local greengrocer where I know the price of my order!
(My mistake - there were 7 not 8 changes out of 10 items ordered.)

      • +1

"Changes in Pricing" does not come under the important first T&C, but almost at the end under "Other Terms and Conditions" with prizes & special offers! Talk about hiding one of the most important T&C for the consumer!
Not an indication of a operation that I would trust.

    • +1

Price changes is also deal with under FAQ: (too much fine print!)
Will the price of my order change?
We do change our prices from time to time, but we like to keep this to a minimum.
Due to the fact that we source the freshest produce from our suppliers, the cost of Pick and Pack items may change from week to week, which you can see when signed in. Note that prices are updated each Friday afternoon for the following week.

That explains the timing of yesterdays vegie price rise.
Seems if you want to be sure of prices, order after Friday for the next week.

  • +1

Standby for the phone calls you will get from this company.

    • Didn't happen. Just a genuine call to ask how they could improve their service.

  • +1

Hi guys, I received my order in the morning!
I placed my order using $20 credit code, i gave out my prepaid cc which has $1.50 left and the order is $17. the invoice was sent to my email showing this amount without deducting the credit. I checked my credit card and nothing was charged.
The service is nice. The order is delivered at my door in a large bag. No door bell ringing, or door knocking. No invoice with your name attached. I think that is why they don't deliver to apartment building or your workplace.
I am happy with my first experience with Aussie farmer direct. I would consider my next order from them :)

    • ummm i didnt know they delivered on a saturday?? was it suppose to be for monday?

    • I got mine today as well. No knock either.

    • Billing is made Friday after delivery, from memory. You are yet to be billed. Counting unhatched chickens is for the unwary!
You did read that in the T&C - as you needed to tick that you had before signing up - didn't you?
And watch out for price changes as I reported above! (Page 10 of T&C we all agreed to.)
eg 81% higher in 1 item on my order!
Yeah - NICEWORK Aussie Farmers Direct!

      • Billing is made at 12:01am on Friday the week after your order (T&C p6)

    • Where does it say that they don't deliver to apartment buildings? My order went through and my invoice was just updated.

      • +1

Check the website FAQ. They leave the overnight deliveries (everything except fruit and veg) outside your buildings front door, so they can't take responsibility if it gets nicked. You can nominate a safe place, or I guess they will leave inside if the building door is left unlocked.

        • Well spotted! I'm tiring of all the fine print.
Looked like a good deal, but not now. I'll just take the first (overpriced) delivery & run.
Lucky they gave a $20 credit & I need to restock the vegies, or I would cancel now.

  • +4

    WARNING
Now you all did read those T&C before signing up - didn't you?
(Yes I am repeating myself - as I begin to realise how bad this could get!)
Under these T&C which could see unexpected & uncontrolled price rises - I will neg this deal as it is potentially dangerous to consumers pockets!!!
I posted examples of 50% & 81% price rises in less than a day above, not really the slight increases or decreases in price of the T&C. (Well not in the land of OzBargain anyway.)

(I know, you did get a nice $20 come-on deal. I will be criticised & negged, possibly without any thought to my warning - as happened on other deals. But if I can stop someone from a shock of an unexpected price rise, its worth it. Also it should bring this unintended avenue for potential harm to consumers to the notice of the rep/operators - to change their T&C. I have suggested suitable modifications below - a reasonable margin for price rises beyond which the item is automatically cancelled or absorbed by the operator, plus making consumers aware of these conditions - by prominent placement at time of ordering, rather than at the end of the T&C probably never read until the issue arises.)

    Read the T&C carefully!
You agree to … authorise AFD to deduct the agreed amount from your nominated credit card or bank account; BUT From time to time we may need to alter the price of the products you have ordered - that is the new agreed amount (as you agreed to that condition)!
That is you pay the price set by ADF - what ever the price, not the price when you ordered.
Open for abuse, and you have no legal recourse as you agreed to the T&C when signing up!
Hypothetically, if a 50c tomato becomes $100 at time of delivery - you must pay!

I understand F&V prices are volitile, size/weight varies, so a set price is difficult ahead of delivery. I have owned a fruit business. (But the big boys do set an agreed price for online deliveries.)
However the T&C are potentially open to abuse. I am sure this was not intended.
There is no agreed amount (percentage) a price may rise by, say before the ordered item is automatically deleted from the order. No consumer will object to falling prices of course.
But these T&C moves the obligation for price increases on to the buyer to watch the price & decline the product before the delivery window closes. Most consumers would be unaccustomed to this type of online purchase!

    Terms & Conditions (Page 10 of 12) https://www.aussiefarmers.com.au/global/docs/TermsAndConditi…
    Other Terms and Conditions:
    Accepting or Rejecting Your Order:

You agree to be supplied with the selected products for any accepted order and authorise AFD to deduct the agreed amount from your nominated credit card or bank account.

    Changes to Pricing:
From time to time we may need to alter the price of the products you have ordered.
This may result in the prices of the individual products being slightly different from the notified price when you placed your standing order. There may be slight increases or decreases in price.
Any changes will be evident by comparing your order confirmation with your monthly tax invoice.

    • +1

Agree it's a bit of a worry, especially as you are charged AFTER delivery! I still have the option of changing my order now, but if there were big increases after delivery but before being charged, there would be nothing I could do. 13% over a couple of days is not negligible.

  • Didn't get my order today, even though it was supposed to come today.

    • Hi there mustkill, we're sorry to hear that your order wasn't delivered! If you haven't already done so, please give us a call on 1300 645 562, and we'll investigate on your behalf.

  • I ordered only meat from AFD. It arrived last night at some time around 11PM. They made a mistake and forgot some things. I had to call them to get it credited. I'm not really impressed by them. Nice cooler bag though.

    • +1

Delivery after 11pm Friday!! When did you find it?
      YES! FAQ:
Milk, bread, seafood, meat and other staple items are delivered to your doorstep between midnight and 7am twice a week, and fruit and vegetables are delivered once a week between 2pm and 7pm.

Lucky it was not eaten by local animals (2 or 4 legged varieties).

To be fair, have had some difficulties with orders from the major supermarkets - near or out of date dairy products, missing items that were charged for, etc.

  • I fortunately ordered a few dollars under my $20 credit, so if they want to jack up some prices I should still be covered by my $20 credit. I also ordered items whose costs usually don't change seasonally.

    • Hope you are right. However, their T&C don't say a change in price can only be due to seasonal variations - can be for any reason, no explanation will be given - and you must pay whatever they demand. But daily changes in meat, Fruit & Vegies prices would be the most likely reason. Buying a box of F&V eliminates issues with price changes, as they can change selection of items to suit prices. Packaged good should be safe from price changes. Just am used to buying on sites which hold the price to what they quoted.

      • Have you/are you going to contact the ACCC or whoever about this issue? Can't believe they've been getting away with this for so long.

        • Seems the appropriate body. It would be of broad public interest - agreement to T&C that almost no one reads & possible unacceptable / unaccountable charges to your bank/CC. But I am not yet directly affected (no delivery yet), so may not have standing. And the ACCC is a slow pussycat. I have taken a successful action against 1 business in a different context, which settled out of court presumably to avoid publicity.
As I assume the T&C are not intended to have the possible outcomes I see, I will first give the operator time to remedy the situation. We all make mistakes, and most good operators agree to fix them without having the authorities called in. It is how we deal with errors that shows if we can be trusted.

        • Fair enough.

  • It gets worse… Milk, bread, seafood, meat and other staple items are delivered to your doorstep between midnight and 7am (FAQ) - hope you get to the order before the neighbours or local wildlife!
(Or follow the milk truck with a BBQ for a free breakie!!)
Guess thats what happens when your milko does the deliveries. No wonder they pay you to try it!!
Don't worry - you will still be billed, as you agreed to that!
I wonder what else we agreed to… oh, just the usual first born clause

Another FAIL! Along with website design & importantly SECURITY issues outlined earlier!!!!
I am closing my account! Too risky for just a few free items.

    • -1

Instead of complaining throughout the thread, have you tried contacting them to discuss your concerns?

      • +1

Good idea. Done both! It doesn't have to be one or the other. (I assume you meant Instead of (just) complaining…)

arcticmonkey, you are saying it is best not to warn OBer who signed up of any potential problems dealing with this business?? (I hope all are happy & don't have any problems.)

So you knew about the midnight - 7am delivery slot, for everything except F&V, warned of?
Or the unrestricted increases in prices you agreed to in the T&C?
        You are better than most.

Discussing concerns with a business can take weeks, months, years.
A warning is there if people want to read it - now, just like we all diligently read the T&C BEFORE agreeing to them when joining!

I have contacted the Rep outlining the issues I and others raised.
And the rep has been watching this deal, so it can be reasonably assumed they are now aware. In my experience, exposure of problems in a business, where it affects consumers, gets a faster response than mere contact by 1 person, administrative, or legal approaches.
I have taken legal action after protracted contact with a business in another context, and know how long that takes. That business finally agreed to redesign, retrain, and offer compensation & an apology.

I am no longer dealing with this business, so it is up to the users to be aware & complain if they see problems. I have done the work of outlining the main issues here.

But as I have said, these issues seem to be design oversights. I believe this is an honest business that could be improved. I wish them success.

  • My account is now inactive and no login is possible as an address was updated to an area that is not serviceable, as my full work address was added.

Some people are not able to get this deal, which is a shame, looks good, cheap produce and free postage, but i may give Food Connect a go instead, as its more flexible with deliveries, and can pick up order at many local sites. Shame Food Connect does not have any voucher codes.

    • Hi there Crownanchor, we're sorry to hear that you've had trouble logging in since you updated your address! If you give us a call on 1300 645 562, one of our representatives will be happy to help you get this all updated, and check with our Routing department to confirm your serviceability.

Unfortunately we aren't able to deliver to everyone, as we are a franchise based business. However, if your address is unserviceable- as you have registered your details, we can alert you should that change down the line. Rest assured your credit will remain on your account until you have been able to use it.

  • 6 hrs 11 mins left for Monday delivery (bread, bagels, and juice). I will be checking hourly just in case they don't press my unit buzzer.

    • +1

Woah. Finally got my order @ 4.30AM. I left the apartment building door slightly ajar and saw it outside my unit's door when I was about to go down and have a look. Impeccable service. It would certainly be reassuring to know if they buzzed/called should a delivery fail.

      NICEWORK

  • +2

    Received my delivery today

also got a phone call this morning to confirm they had delivered it and tell me where they had put it

    great service, bad website

  • Hi after the delivery do we have to leave the esky out for the delivery guy to collect it? or do we keep it with us until we make another order?

    • When should I leave my esky out?

Leave your Aussie Farmers Direct esky out the night before your delivery, with an ice block to keep your food fresh. If you do forget and your milko has enough spares on hand you may receive a loan esky, but please remember to leave both out for your next delivery.

  • got mine at 12:30am despite inactive account. milkman rang telecom as promised in rep's email.

  • +4

what if I don't have anymore deliveries? what do I do with the cooler bag.

    • +3

Hi there impoze, the esky bag is yours to keep. That way, if you decide to place another Milkman/Butcher order at any stage down the line, you can just pop the esky bag out the night before the order is due. Your driver will then leave all of the produce in this esky bag for you, ensuring that the produce arrives safe and sound to you first thing in the morning.

Great Service got mine order at 1:15 in the morning :D
The lights on the van woke me up. They didn't have any Sour cream so they gave me a free thickened cream plus a loaf of bread. They left a note saying that they will deliver the sour cream tomorrow. I noticed my apples were missing from my order, but they came back an hour later and dropped it off.

Great Service :) will defiantly order again. :D

    • +1

      defiant against Bruce :p?

      • Go for it :)
I think it is a good service, happy they give a promo $20, but some of their T&C are potentially risky, other important conditions of service are not prominently displayed, & poor website implementation (eg cancelling an item is very flawed system & poor security design) is likely to lead to mistakes & complaints.
The major issue is you gave them open access to your Credit Card for changes in prices. You are forced to watch out & cancel the items if you want to avoid the increased charge. I have never seen such onerous conditions placed on the consumer before. It is very much buyer beware with this site at present.

    • Can't get much better than that!

  • Received my order today! Bought 2 packets of cookies and some goat cheese. Very over priced but it was free. The money hasn't been taken from my card so I assume it was from the credit. I used NICEWORK and it worked perfectly, no forms I had to fill out.

    • Umm… again, next billing cycle is Friday the week after order.

Got my order, but I must say the website needs a bit of work. You can't remove items you've added by clicking X, you can only do it by setting the quantity to 0. However, according to the rep, you remove reoccuring items with the X.
This is incredibly unintuitive, and led to unwanted items.

Also, one of my items received was wrong without explanation.

It was still a good deal overall, saving of $20, but it definitely didn't encourage me to start ordering from Aussie Farmers Direct until they get past some of these issues.

    • I can remove orders fine. No idea what you're talking about… X button on each item works.

The confusion might arise from how they handle the weekly/fortnightly orders. You might have a weekly order, select a date 2 months in the future and delete that order then. It gets removed as of the date you selected, meaning you'll continue receiving the orders for the 2 months leading up to that date.

Same with fortnightly deliveries, you have to tick the "Show All" checkbox to see the products that won't be delivered for that week.

Its easy enough to understand once you get the hang of it, and it lends itself to the possibility of having quite complicated orders, if you so choose, which is a good thing IMO.

I think we are talking about different parts of the order process, hence the confusion.

When adding an item into new order, clicking X does remove item.

But once an item has been ordered, & possibly after the confirmation email has been sent, using X only removes the item from order window, but not (in the several times I tried it on Once-Off deliveries) from that single order in a few days time, if you examine the order confirmation after CONFIRMing. Very tricky. Refreshing order window brings that 'cancelled' item back.

So the same command seems to have different outcomes at different times, by what I have observed. Very tricky!! Definitely not "easy enough to understand once you get the hang of it". Again, the user must check their order - in case the system has not done what you asked. Prone to mistakes. (This reminds me of shoddy assignments, that the students used to try to convince me were masterpieces, based on how long they had spent coding it.)

This is supposed to be a basic retail site selling bread, milk, etc (added to an old time milk delivery model - assume thats why the late night deliveries), not a site demanding high level knowledge of their system design. The design of the site, systems, checks, security, etc needs to reflect the basic knowledge of the end users. If they can't work it out in the first use, or have mistakes in their order, or price increases they were not aware of, or deliveries at unexpected times - they will not be back.

Just viewed the emailed video of a 7 news promo for the company saying they are expanding. Would have been a good idea to get their site up to scratch first.

Hope others can add their experiences of clicking X …

Unfortunately, every time I try their site I find problems.
(Beaten to the post!) As pointed out above, Clicking X against ordered items does not delete it as expected, but undoes changes - you need to take item down to 0 which still leaves it on the confirmed order as 0 of that item ordered. Primitive! Does not follow norms of ordering online, so is unnecessarily confusing.

After clicking X against a few items & adding alternatives, my total price on the order window showed $25.30 - indicating items were removed correctly, clicked CONFIRM, but price went up to Total of $37.07 on confirmed order, and on order window!! No items were removed. Needed to take items down to 0 & CONFIRM again. This time correct price but some items listed as 0 ordered, order window reflected correct price, and email confirmed this.
Very confusing! Some will think they have cancelled an item, only to receive it & have to pay for it.

A fair bit of work necessary on site, but I am sure they will get there.
(Can't say no to a free $20, so am placing 1 order to see how it goes, before closing account after billing cycle.)

    • Yeah, their website needs to be revamped, hv in big letters that pricing change occurs on fridays. Other than that im pretty happy with their service. Not sure what to do with the cooler bag… I don't think i'll order from them again if they don't lower their prices to match supermarkets even though I like their concept.

I don't think they're going to be able to match the price of the big supermarkets who order large amounts of foreign/imported junk. The price premium is for Australian made goods from Australian farmers etc.

I ran a successful retail fruit business in the past, selling up to 5 tonne a day to office & factory workers in their workplaces. I certainly undercut the big boys, but I had regular customers I developed direct relationships with, a very limited range of stock (usually just 2 choices - apples & oranges), well trained & dedicated staff, very low costs, and next to no waste. (It funded my pet projects, not my pocket.)

Selling a wider range of products, warehousing, staff costs of selecting & bagging those, franchised operators - well there are higher costs & likely to be some waste. It will be difficult to bring costs down to the big boys level, even without shop front costs.

But it is a good model, using milkos to deliver after midnight. But might not suit ever customer. Expansion of the model as announced, is likely to bring a few difficult issues.

Delivered costs of products need to be compared to the big boys deliveries, not the store price. (eg last time I shopped cost $13 to deliver from Woolies, on a minimum order of $30, most non-sale items were dearer than on the shelf, some issues of missing or substituted stock, or near out of date stock, etc)

Received my F&V box today - lovely delivery driver and beautiful fresh food - looks great!!

    • Savour!

    • can you give me an idea what was in it? and amounts? i want to get some for the office so i can con my boss to think it is a good idea and fund it for us. could the small package feed 5-7 ppl?

  • Signed up from a street promo without credit :(
    First order came today.
Missing my milk and eggs were broken.
And the yogurt was sort of warm and the ice had melted around the lasagne. Was around 11am when I realised the order was in the cooler bag.

I've called to complain and they have taken off the milk and egg charge but not impressed so far.

Surprised AFD haven't come in here to respond to 'brucefromaustralia'. This is why social media/community management is so important.

OzBargain has very good SEO so these comments will stay on record. Not responding even with a request for 'brucefromaustralia' to communicate outside of this thread is poor form IMO.
