This standard zoom is a great bargain. Considering it sells for $460 on amazon. http://www.amazon.com/Pentax-16-45mm-Samsung-Digital-Cameras…
The reviews look good too. Just bought one :-) lets see how it turns out.

Good for landscapes, a tad short on the tele end.
I have one. This lens has its own limitations (as all the others) : F4 not F2.8, CA can be a bit high (but it is a blueish much less visible than purplish one), at wide end it is extended (and most likely will partly shadow an internal flash).
BUT, it is
- light
- not too big
- has reasonably good MTF (even at 16mm)
- 16mm - good for landscapes.
- unbeatable pricewise.
I managed to get mine for $300 locally.
For $289 Aussie stock and warranty it is a very good deal.
I would reccommend this one for anyone who still has an 18-55mm kit lens, unless you plan to spend ~$900 or more for your next upgrade. Now where can I find some cheap local Limited primes…
I've had this since my K100D super days (~6-7 years ago) and it is still my primary lens when I go out with my dslr (for casual shooting). It produces nice bokeh despite it only being F4 and I found it to be quite sharp. Quite a big upgrade over the older kit lens. It is limiting sometimes but as an all purpose lens (during the day) I find it to be quite adequate.
I can see that deals on photography gear are extremel underrated.
Probably because not many people are keen photographers.lens has good review and I am very tempted to buy it.. but if shipping is required, ebay may be cheaper:
http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/PENTAX-16-45mm-F-4-0-SMC-PDA-ED-A…Why Pentax Australia listed the lens as having SDM motor only https://www.crkennedy.com.au/pentax/index.php?q=node/101 An error?
It does not have an SDM motor.
