Seems fair when you live in the middle of nowhere

If you can design, build and sell such advanced technology for only $149, I don't see why it should take 50% extra to deliver it…

Economies of scale buddy. They build thousands, of these TVs at once, there's not a lot of postal trucks going up to Port Hedland every day. The price of living in the middle of nowhere mate.

I know you're just being difficult, as your profile says you live in Vic. Surely you have better things to do than find out where the most expensive place to get Kogan to deliver to is?

        • I'm pretty sure that's not where you really live though is it? :)

    • Yeah to the far ends of Australia… that is to be expected. $16.42 Melbourne shipping which is reasonable.

        as a ozbargainer, even at $16.42 I'd say it's not reasonable……

    • $18.64 to Sydney

    • you are such a troll

Nearly posted this. Not a bad price for the kids room. +1

  • Is this "Full HD" like the last bait and switch they did with the 32" Smart tv?

    • +2

The panel type is TFT which has poor colours and limited viewing angles. TFT panels are cheap and not usually used in TVs, so I would steer clear of this one to avoid disappointment.

      • TFT… I'm sick of people using cheap parts to boost specs at the cost of performance. Reminds of McDonalds how they park people to make drive through times appear better to management when in reality customers are waiting longer.

You're confusing TFT with TN - TFT is a type of LCD technology, TN is the matrix used in the panel. For cheap TVs 24" and under almost all use TN panels. If you want IPS or VA you're looking at the wrong price bracket.

compare to this one? which one is better?

  • Mine just arrived. I'll update this post when I've unboxed it.

    • One thing I've got to say about the online documentation is that it is not abundantly clear what document(s) I should be downloading for my TV. (I am a man therefore I do not read manuals. I'm d/ling it for my wife. :p )
