Western Digital Elements 1TB USB3 Portable External Hard Drive $89.99 + Postage

10

Got an email from Mwave with this deal which isn't the cheapest I've seen these drives but it seems to be the cheapest current price. The hard drive is a Western Digital Elements (WDBPCK0010BBK) 1TB USB3 Portable External Hard Drive. Before someone asks, Portable means it does not require an external power source. Next cheapest I could find these are $99 at JB HiFi, which may suit people outside of Sydney better as postage is $12.95 from Mwave, but if you are able to pickup is no extra charge.

Deal expires tomorrow or when sold out so if you're after one of these, don't wait. I've already ordered one and am picking it up on the weekend. :)

    Both free delivery (over $55?)

Not identical model to this deal but better priced.

      Seagate =/= WD
(not by any stretch of the imagination)

      • You make it sound as if that's a bad thing, imho Seagate > WD

I meant for a like product not equal, my bad.

    amazon deal is better

  • shipping kills the deal. might as well just buy at a bricks and mortar store and have decent warranty support as well.

  • Would like to know what's the difference between WD, Seagate and Imation? is WD the best for hard drives?

Well I believe the Imation has a Toshiba HDD inside which, to be honest, I don't know the reliability of.

Everybody has different experiences with different brands and often the opinions formed change per year. I used to think WD were the shiz, now I think Seagate perform better and have greater reliability.

WD and Seagate both have a 3 year warranty, apart from that often its luck of the draw.

A bit OT …Harvey Norman charge $275 for their equivalent HD. :O

  • these "Elements" series aren't reliable, i have one and it stopped working after a few weeks..

  • 1TB for $90 + post??? no way I would pay a price like this!
I would rather get 1.5TB/2TB/3TB for a little more!

  • I bought a WD passport USB 3.0 and returned it because I'd want getting USB 3.0 speeds… been watching to see if any deals come up for other USB 3.0 drives appear that are known to read/write fast….

Any ideas on this one? Real world speeds not theoretical speeds

  • Bought one of the seagate drives from office works, speeds were near 100mb/s when moving large files, did not run any tests, just used the thing to move some stuff from a friends machine.

    • Sorry that this is getting a bit off topic, but was that 100mb/s write? which seagate drive? GoFlex? Expansion?
