Is it worth upgrading from the generic cream coloured splitters?

    • If you are having any line issues at all you may see an improvement with these filters, yes.

  • You need a licensed electrician to install these filters right?

    • "For connection by a licenced cabler on the incoming telephone line to provide an ADSL signal 'clean' of any unwanted noise or loading and an isolated connection to all telephones/ fax machines/ dialup modems."

      So technically, Yes.

      • Can you provide any diagrammatic instructions on the wiring?

        • +2

There will only be 2 wires from the phone line that need connecting (most likely blue & white). As far as I know there are no polarity issues so it doesn't matter which way round they go, although it's best to follow the convention if you can figure it out.
You will probably need a Krone punch down tool to connect them ($1.82 here).

    $1 on ebay !!

If you are going to make the comment, at least put the link to back up your statement.

    • No these ones seem to be over $30 on ebay. You must be thinking of the filter only.

    • Empty plastic boxes don't work as ADSL filters.

  • Good price, I bought it a few months ago -$14.99 from them

  • So this isn't a filter where you run your phone line into one of the sockets and your modem/router into the other?

    • Correct, this is a hard wired filter.

If done correctly, there's a good chance your download speeds will improve too.

      Give it a crack.

      Paul.

  • Please feel free to give us a plus, if you buy one :)

    • Just got one, thanks!

  • Have one of these too, well did before switching over to fiber.

Great product, much better than the standard ones you get with your phone/modem/router.

  • what is the differences between this 921E2+ and the 931E2+ splitter which is retail at $21.45?

this one: This filter is a 4 stage filter intended for home / small office installations.

more expensive one: This filter is a 5 stage filter and so has greater attenuation of higher frequencies - suits larger installations.

    • The 931E2+ is the "Advanced" Central Filter. It features 5 phase filtering which I believe is one more phase than the 921E2+. A difference you would only expect to notice over many connections (medium to larger businesses).

  • Does it have to be connected to the Central plug in the house, if I have a socket in another room where my pc is located, will it work ok there?

  • I tried to order but The checkout charged $9.95 for delivery fee.

    • works fine for me. $9.95 delivered/

  • Thanks Op… just bought one to replace the ugly phone socket and massive adsl filter in my loungeroom.
