  • 2.5" or 3.5"??

  • Hmmm…looks like it's 3.5…Would be nice if it was 2.5…~

  • yeah…just bought it, i got the last one @ OW QV Melb., @ OW South Melbourne and ELizabeth store they don't stock it anymore..

  • has anone bought one these, are the good quality?

    • well i always trust wd with my data :)…..and the look is better than the 500gb maxtor that being sold for 99$ @ Dick smith

  • Website says only available online.

Does anyone know if it will be compatible with macs? I need to a portable external HD.

    • you can find it in store as well, yes it is compatible with Mac

  • Campbelltown OW had a couple of these in stock. They seem to be a good unit

  • I'd so rather buy a 2.5" drive and do away with the extra power supply. Sort of defeats the purpose of being 'portable'

  • Already got the 1TB essentials from the previous post but its full so I'm going to pick this one up this arvo, hopefully they'll have some in stock

  • Being Mac compatible means that the drive is formatted to fat32, bit pointless if you'd want to store files larger than 4GB each. Simply get your mac to read & write NTFS and format the drive to that so your PCs love it more.

  • There's around a billion available at brisbane CBD so plenty of stock. Nice metallic look and the capacity meter is pretty neat as well.

  • lol. As if a 2.5" 500gb for $109??
Fat32 is handy for PC and Mac if you use both. HFS+ is the best for when just using Mac's. I dont think any of the added software will work with mac, but its not really a deal clincher!
