  • Can anyone recommend a good case?

  • Just ordered one. Thanks OP!
Will like to have the tax invoice. Can I request now or has to wait until I get the device?

    • Hi garylau,

      Thank you for your purchase!
Please request a tax invoice from our customer service team and it will be sent to you via email :)

  • How does the performance of NEXUS compare to Galaxy Tab 7.7 P6800?

  • Could anyone answer this… Because OZPlaza have said that ASUS are responsible for warranty does that absolve OZPlaza of their normal responsibility (because you've agreed to this buy buying it under those terms)
(edit to add: my understanding is that nothing would absolve them of basic responsibilities like this)

You have statutory rights as a consumer regarding your warranty and the seller is responsible for that.

      http://www.accc.gov.au/content/index.phtml/itemId/322947

Click on the .pdf link at the bottom. Read it. Learn it. Know it. Page 10 highlights who is responsible.

      Who must provide a remedy?
Sellers – Each sale is a contract between the
seller and the consumer. So if the seller breaches
the contract by providing goods that do not
meet a statutory warranty or condition, it is their
      responsibility to provide a remedy.
If a seller has to return goods to a manufacturer
for assessment or repair, the seller should arrange
      delivery.

With all that said I purchased this tablet from this company myself knowing full well regardless of what they say they are responsible. Just make sure you when you pay via Paypal you do so with your linked credit card as you can always process a charge back later which they would have difficult disputing. Actually they wouldn't be able to dispute it…

With online shopping it is critical both buyers and sellers know all this stuff.

      • thanks champ.

I always pay with Paypal with the money coming straight out of my linked bank account (using Visa debit card) will this achieve the same thing?

        • +1

I'm not quite sure. Call your bank to confirm if your visa linked debit card has the same anti fraud measures as a credit card. Just give them an example over the phone like "If I order something online and the item is delivered but it isn't what I ordered can I process a charge back?" They will be able to confirm quite quickly.

  • Why cant Google just sell these refurb units direct like Apple do.

    • you mean from the google shop the one that sells the google playstore cards?

Wish they would also sell the refurbs direct from ASUS. Why bother with a middle man.

        • My opinion: because Asus != Apple… not enough branding power to push refurb stocks. So better wholesale them to 3rd Party to do the hard work!
I.e. KOGAN is doing similar practice on Ebay as well. Selling Refurb stocks under a different Ebay account using third party coy.

        • Guess you are right, plus not directly selling the refurbs will also mean more people buying new. Now just to decide if i jump on this deal or wait for prices on new to drop a little more.

        • since a 32gb model can be owned for $230 a while back, I don't see any reasons why they won't sell the brand new 16gb model for $199. it's a matter of time.

  • -2

You can buy it brand new for $199 delivered…

    • It's also refurb.

    • FINE PRINT:
Tablet is a professional Asus factory refurb (the maintenance/repair of this item has been professionally conducted by Asus Australia and includes a 1 year Asus Australia warranty)

      • That is SUPER dodgy. I wonder what the ACCC would think of that….I'm looking for the note about refurb and I can't see it)
EDIT: Oh wait I see it…in the section with the GIANT LETTERS "FINE PRINT" little bit ironic

    • Not New. Look at the fine print:
"Tablet is a professional Asus factory refurb (the maintenance/repair of this item has been professionally conducted by Asus Australia and includes a 1 year Asus Australia warranty)"

I don't get it…$249 brand new or $189 2nd hand, refurb still means 2nd hand so to me this is an easy choice, spend the $60 and get a brand new one regardless of same warranty, who knows how a device was treated and may look fine and work fine for a short period. Just that extra factor that I personally do not like.

If the price difference was $100+ I could understand worth taking a risk.

    • Does factory refurbished also mean no scratches or marks on the casing and screen?! Ie. If they are marked, they replace those parts during refurb?

      • Yes it does, but you are never sure which batch they would give you. i.e iPads, you could get the first batch that came out that had screen bleeding (which people swap and is refurb) where as the latest brand new batch would not and is fixed.

  • I bought my product, I expect to have a full refund if I have any problems with my product. The seller is responsible for the faulty products they may have sent out. I bought via Paypal, how do I receive my gst number? or any verification that I bought this product for future reference on my warranty?

  • i was just about to buy one … and the deal ended.. any words on when you'll be able to put the deal back again please ?

  • +3

Arghhh missed it as well. I was watching it as this deal got posted. Tempted, but didn't think that I need another one.

Then my dad called at dinner time asking me to get him an iPad Mini for travelling. Managed to convince him that Nexus 7 is better and cheaper, thinking "hey I know a deal that gets you a quad-core tablet for under $200". Look up on OzBargain and it's all gone :(

Btw the eBay listing said "81 sold" although you said there are 90 available. Please PM me if someone manage to pull out.

    • I would also like a PM if someone manages to pull out

    • Long shot, but please PM me if it really does turn out there are more available.

be wary of the build quality of these tablets there are a number of bad batches out there you should avoid like the plague

    hence the returns. ..

  • The jokers at 1-day.com.au (T7) are selling these for $239 (refurbished) http://www.1-day.com.au/products/AAIDCPHG7

  • Received mine today via Australia Post. Tablet is in as new condition (in generic brown box with charger/cable) and the seller emailed me an invoice as requested.

  • Anyone else received theirs yet? Still waiting…….

    • Still waiting for mine too, tracking says it's been Lodged/Shipment info approved for a few days now…

    • Received mine on Monday morning.

    • Mine arrived this morning (Brissie)

  • Got mine today. Looks as new to me. No scratches or damages, not a single fingerprint on the screen.

  • Got mine yesterday. Same as above, everything looks perfect, except I noticed a very slight screen burn of the default home screen (with the Playstore advertising whatever it does…I think it was Nova Launcher)
Anyway just downloaded a screen burn fixing app and BOOM! Fixed it! (Screen burns not really much of an issues these days)

Super happy I bought this….should have got a second one for the misses as she's been using it lots to watch youtube vids.
