Requires 6 C batteries, though mine came with 20 cartridges. RRP at Kmart for it was $29.

      You must be a genius to modify your Proton to accept 6 C batteries… nah, just kidding, yours is a Nitron.
      
      Nerf Vortex range is a fail. They are not selling well at all compared to the Nerf dart blasters. I don't see Nerf will continue making these Vortex blasters any longer.

This is the normal price for Protons, can even go less.

$10 for a Strongarm is a better investment.
