It would be a mistake to overlook the Panasonic Lumix LX7 with its fast glass.
This is the upgrade of S95 & S100, correct me If I'm wrong.
I used S95 before it's a good steping stone if you just started with your 'Expensive' hobby
it got few DSLR setup which normally point and shot camera don't haveI paid more that that when S95 was 1st released :-(
Tempted to get them for my wife
I have this camera and the price is a really good deal. I got mine in December from Kogan and paid a bit more.
I come from a DSLR background and this has manual settings which I use all the time. Good high ISO performance too.
Negative points, it shoots RAW that most programs won't support. Eg Adobe MC 5.5 won't work, only 6+. The GPS feature is pretty useless and user unfriendly.
This is a good camera and I recommend it for people looking for a mid range point'n'shoot.
And you are correct, the current top point'n'shoot is the Sony rx100, but you pay a premium for it!
Forgot to add it has a cool mode that shoots movies in 240fps, low res though, but still fun
I thought they removed the GPS feature in S110. It was there in S100…
How long does shipping takes?
Beware of the "lens error" fault, plus some other issues, not fixed in the S110. Canon have been less than helpful and may ask for payment similar to the price above to fix the issue. Our one stopped on the first day of our holiday in Bali. Camera was in pristine condition.
what is the lens error fault?
this is a grey import too right?

I happen to be looking at something with similar feature to S110, Currently nost discussed models that competits are:
With the Sony most talk about due to it large sensor, but its soooooooo expensive ||>_<
I would go for this if I was not after a camera with fast lens and snappy focus speed.
